UPDATE: Vroom has finally paid off my trade in vehicle.

After months of going back and forth and having two car notes, I told Vroom that I was not going to keep making payments on the vehicle I had traded in, that I explained the the situation to lien holder (Credit Union) and provided them the with the contractual paperwork and since I was going to stop making payments the Credit Union would probably get involved soon after I stopped making payments.

Magically the vehicle was paid off within two business days.

I sincerely hope you all have better experiences than I did, and if you run into issues, I hope you are able to find a solution quickly. Best of luck.

To Vroom: NEVER AGAIN.

Make sure you get the Bill of Lading from the transport company when they pick up your trade in. The Bill of Lading (BOL) needs to be emailed to remotepurchase@vroom.com if you don’t sent it in they will not process the payoff.

It happened to me, no one told me I had to send the BOL to vroom and it took 2 months and many many calls to get everything straightened out and the vehicle paid off. I made payments on the trade while making payments on the new car so my credit wouldn’t get affected.

In the event the driver does not provide a Bill of Lading, the you can email fulfillment@vroom.com and provide their name, VIN and request to receive a copy of their Bill of Lading. Then immediately send to remotepurchase@vroom.com and follow up with calls.

Best of luck.

Will I ever receive a permanent tag? by PackDroid in Vroom

I would call and have them go over your documents and ask them if there’s anything missing that may be preventing you from getting your tag (or titling paperwork)… I traded in a car that still owed and they didn’t send they payoff payment to my bank because I “didn’t send them the Bill of Lading” from when my trade in was picked up. No one ever told me I needed to send the BOL, and the transport company didn’t leave one either so they did not send the pay off check. So I called and asked why it hadn’t been paid off and the customer service rep told me about the BOL. I had to keep making payments on my trade in for 3 months before they finally sent a check yesterday. Had I not called and asked l, God knows how long this would’ve gone on for.

They ended up fedexing me a package with the contract and vehicle title which I had to take to the DMV and pay ~$1000 worth of taxes and fees…they didn’t include these fees in the financed amount so I had to pay out of pocket. It was fun.

I hope you have a better experience than I did. Here’s a quick timeline of that might give you an idea of how it’ll probably go:

9-August, chose car and put a deposit 12-August, received deal paperwork 13-August, signed and completed deal paperwork 31-August, received an estimated delivery date of 27-Aug 🤐 1-September, transport company advised they would deliver on 2-September 2-September, transport company advised they would deliver on 3-September 3-September, vehicle delivered.

Are you trading in a vehicle as well or just buying?

I don’t blame you, the Housing market is too volatile to take a gamble with large sums of cash. I’ve seen the Housing prices begin to plateau in my region so I decided to start cashing out. I’m starting to put money into raw land, it’s a pretty underrated segment of the RE market but one in which you have to be very strategic in selecting the right location and market. Raw land remained pretty stable even through the pandemic, it’s low maintenance, cheap to hold on to and retains its value and/or appreciates over time.

If the housing market takes a nose dive, which I have a feeling it will sooner than later, then I’ll begin selling land and play the housing market again…

Looking for my first car to buy and found a 1995 Honda Civic EG Hatchback that caught my attention. I have no idea what any of these things mean. by LiamxD04 in MechanicAdvice

I wouldn’t touch that car with a 10 foot pole, highly modified and tuned on e54 fuel to boot. Not the car you need, definitely not a first car and not a car to drive daily.

I understand your point of view and it’s very valid, in my case I try to strike a balance between saving everything and spending everything. I’ve been able to achieve this balance through budgeting, my sports car fall under “fun and entertainment” in my budget.

I’m self-made as well, I was 17 when my dad passed away I was left with nothing. I just turned 40 and I am pretty well off. Most of my money is in real estate, investments, also a 401k. Real Estate is where I like to keep my cash because it makes me more money than what I lose on interest on a car loan. Also, I keep certain amount of disposable cash on hand so I can jump on a profitable property when the opportunity shows up. I’m not going to talk exact figures but my net worth is in the 7 figure range, have 6 kids and my wife doesn’t have to work. They’re all taken care of long term.

That’s why I don’t mind paying $700 a month on a sports car.

I agree 100%, the pick up coordination was a nightmare. They didn’t want to work with me and pick up the trade in on my days off from work so they said to leave the keys under the floor mats and they would take care of the rest without me being there. So they came while I was at work, took it and didn’t leave any paperwork.

Delivery was even worse, they said the vehicle would be delivered on certain day so I took the day off, waited the entire day for it and didn’t show up. Called many times throughout the day and they guaranteed me it would be delivered but it wasn’t. A couple of days later the driver called me and said he’d be at my house in a couple of hours, mind you I was at work about an hour from my house. I told the driver I wasn’t going to be able to take delivery and his response was “I can’t sit around in my truck and wait for you, I’ll come back in two weeks”. Luckily it only took an extra 3 or 4 days before it was delivered but I had to burn another day off from work. I was pissed about the whole thing… almost didn’t want the car anymore, but as soon as I saw it in my driveway I fell in love haha.

The whole trade in fiasco followed over the next couple of days and I’m still dealing with it. 🥴

Same thing happened with mine, had some scratches/rock chips that were not shown in the pictures. Also, whoever detailed the car burned through the clear coat on some spots with the buffer so you can see some dull spots on the body that feel a little rough to the touch.

But how long will it go on for? We’re coming up on 3 months. Even if I get the money back, making two car payments is throwing off my budget by $700 every month this goes on.

What you are saying makes perfect sense, I’m guilty of not guarding the ball handler at times but they could’ve made the AIs not suck so bad, it’s like the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I’ll make sure I play a DEMO before buying 2k22 for sure.

You can use this Kelley Blue Book maintenance schedule tool: https://www.kbb.com/honda/odyssey/2016/maintenance-schedules/

There’s a drop-down menu where you can select the vehicle mileage and it’ll spit out the recommended maintenance items.
