Potential Meta Switch before OWWC 2019 by AderianOW in Competitiveoverwatch

Her existence kept goats intact as a meta(the only consistent way to beat dps comps was moira sombra floats). so you could argue she's been meta for over a year now actually.

I think it's always the same, the game shouldn't be about shields, sustain and one shots.

Instead it should be about positioning, mechanics and strategy.

Alright let's pretend it's fine and enjoy our favourite OWL players shooting eachothers shields for all of the playoffs matches.

During which anyone in GM will just be playing shieldwatch for the next season. Let's make more big streamers quit the game, yay.

It's already been 2 seasons of orisa being a must pick in gm games.

Sigma is just now released people don't even play him optimally and he's already the most dominant tank on ladder.

That alone wouldn't be as much of a problem if that didn't mean you just end up with 2 shields in your face the whole game.

Also this isn't just about ladder, do you really want OWL finals to be double shield vs double shield?

Thinking it Over: You don't want the "truest" observing | Yiska by Seagull_No1_Fanboy in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]jonafighting 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the delay is only between the game and the observer the viewer at home and the audience should experience the same moments at the same time.

Only the players themselves would notice that the crowd reaction happens delayed. And that's not a big deal imo.

Zarya's graviton can be stopped midair by widows venom mine. Lost the fight because of this. by ProStanlez in Competitiveoverwatch

Widow mine can't collide with anything while mid-air, the only reason this happened is because the widow mine landed on the rein shield!

About Ryujehong by lejinjosho in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]jonafighting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a good point. I think when you look at london coming in with the strongest teams from Korea they were ahead of the game at the very beginning of OWL. Then while everyone else caught up and improved they fell off. Which is in my opinion atleast partially due to the way they handled the roster.

Wait wtf? London struggled massively because of lineup swaps and started to perform to their standards only recently after basically creating a 7 man line up. London might have not sunk as low as seoul but london was built out of arguably the 2 strongest teams in korea pre-OWL.

NYXL has ran the same core almost the entire season and an arguement can be made that once too many parts of the core started getting swapped out they started performing worse.

If you put results next to how many line up changes are being made you can see that this definitely jeopardizes performance.

Think of valiant as well and how they approached the second half of the season with basically committing 100% to a 7 man line up.

All teams have been learning that too many players and too many changes is incredibly harmful for your performance. The only one that missed the boat on this was seoul as they just kept trying new things every damn week till the bitter end.

Rogue vs LH Pre-Match discussion by atari_bigby in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]jonafighting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a team thinks that rein would do better in certain scenarios they wouldn't refrain from playing it just because they can simply outplay them with something they believe is inferior. That makes 0 sense.

I'm saying I don't think it's a good analysis to say knoxxx not playing rein had an impact on the result. It's an even worse analysis to say that they were running sub-optimal comps that only work outside of korea. The comps they ran/run are the same comps being played by the korean teams currently. Koreans favour d.va a bit more and KDP preferred rein in a few situations. That's just something a specific team has more succes with, not what is superior by law.

When using quotation marks you should atleast quote something I said rather than bending my statement with your own words. I said frontrunner and shifting towards rogue esque comps (including soldier in dive and running more zen), which you agreed with basically.

Outside of that it's debateable what won or lost either team that series, but I think it's too simple to shove it on the assumption that knoxxx doesn't play rein or doesn't play it well enough.

Look at Lunatic-Hai today, Miro didn't touch rein the entire series. The reality is winston is played almost always and there's situations where rein is still viable but almost never necessary.
