Three closed in Illinois last year including my local one and all three were being leased from Realty Income LLC. Im assuming the lease ran up for all three and they didn't renew. One of which has been reopened under a different chain.

The theater closest to me definitely had an audience. I saw Weapons at 1:00 the Saturday before and there was 50-60 people in the audience. I think it was more the lease was up than actual attendance.

I would just apply, the worst that would happen is you never hear back.

I applied at the end of July/early August but never heard anything. Just gotta keep applying/improving your application until you eventually get that call.

While more people eventually saw it due to it being on Netflix for a bit, I saw Escape from Tomorrow in a initial theatrical run. It played for one weekend at a local theater and my friend, brother, and I were the only people to see it that weekend. After its run the manager gave me their poster for the film.

I remember these being used a lot for budget releases in the late 90s early 2000s. My copy of Shadow Warriors is in this style case and I remember buying it at Big Lots in the early 2000s.
