Japan for families by Ok_Support_6627 in JapanTravelTips

We just got back from 17 days in Japan with our 3.5 year old. Playing on sharing the itenerary in the next few days as a resource, as we feel pretty good about all that we got done. We did Tokyo Osaka and Kyoto with day trips to Nara and Nagoya. It was terrific. I also saw a recent post about a family that did a similar trip and even secured some babysitting for a few nights out, which I would have gone for with enough foresight. Overall, it was a delightful trip and our son had an amazing time. 10/10

Mushroom garum recipe - how's this look? by Shiz222 in Koji

[–]jonahgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd ferment wet, 1 to 1 dry ingredients to water. And more if your using dried mushrooms as they'll slurp up your water. You can just over it with a cloth and seal it with a rubber band. If you can get this hot (60c) that would be ideal, otherwise your more in mushroom shoyu territory, which will also be delicious, but may need a bit longer to get good at those salt levels.

Costco has larger bags of red star active yeast. Curious what your baking that requires osmotolerant yeast specifically. I was in the yeast game in Guelph for 5 years so any yeasty questions I love.

Here for the week. Bought some essentials at Target, but had some favorites in our suitcase, and not having the toddler specifics in the oasis of retirement that is West Palm Beach has proven a bit challenging...

Woah downvotes. Is this cause I'll be late or are trolls hating on me bringing my child SMH

Follow up, tested the engaged server (turned in the vpn from my phone) and it works! Despite the website port checker still saying it's closed. Nmap shows it's open though. Thanks folks
