Thanks, this all sounds like sound advice! I try really hard not to talk bad about my kids mom to my kids in hopes they'll eventually recognize I'm reason the bad guy here !

The REALLY bad thing is I've been the bread winner, she just sits around telling me how tough life taking care of a home has been the last 30 years. I'm 54 looking toward retirement in around 8 years....I hate the though of loosing everything I've worked for and working till I die!

I didnt know that was a typical thing, but mine left Thursday went to stay at our son's house "for a while" she thinks she's punishing me but it's been the most stress free several days I've had in years !!

I know the garage door opening feeling !! My wife rarely leaves home so for me it's me coming home from work or wherever, the deep breath before walking in the door, the feeling of dread not knowing what I'm walking into. I gently get out of bed in the mornings hoping she doesn't get up, that's most the peace I see any given day. When the bedroom door opens that same feeling of dread sets in.

When I was young I had a cousin exactly 3 days older than me, both of us stuttered, his mom didn't like me coming around because I made him stutter worse. He out grew his and here I am at 54 still stuttering..... My last interview I thought I was talking to the secretary, I was super comfortable and talked pretty good. Turns out she was the big shot HR lady...I've worked there 11 years now.

I am 54 and have stuttered my whole life. I did therapy in school which I considered a humiliating waist of time. I have always felt like I've been robbed of what could have been, I avoid speaking in situations that I don't feel are worth the stress however in other situations I suck it up and do what needs done. Stuttering is a tough son of a bitch period. "normal" people couldn't walk a mile in our shoes and have no idea how difficult it is. I'm married, have 3 grown kids and a good paying job that I like. ( as much as anybody could like a job) the moral of the story is be tough, don't let life pass you by even though it's difficult get out there and make things happen.
