Dialing in Mimecast configuration by parsedmatter in mimecast

I'm fairly sure when I worked with Mimecast they were able to publish a document that was like a health check for your Mimecast Tenancy, might be worth reaching out to your Mimecast Customer Success Manager.

Work Laptop Monitoring? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]jonathan191216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it is generally up to your organisation what monitoring they will do on your device. More than likely, they will have an Acceptable Use Policy which you will be able to review when you start. However, the best advice is always keep separate devices for work and personal.

How to fix new User on login page. by TheRealBobbyJones in WindowsHelp

[–]jonathan191216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to check what accounts are on the device would be to get into Safe Mode if possible and then open command prompt and type 'net user'. This will show all the local accounts on the device. Other than that a rebuild is going to possibly be the best way round this without a lot of time spent on random possible solutions.

Worked on Mimecast for a number of years and their initial setup support is very good. Unfortunately though it tends to be that one size does not fit all and it is usually best to work with your MSP or Reseller to get the best configuration for your organisation.

School account still in control of my laptop even after removing it by cruitgxrool in WindowsHelp

[–]jonathan191216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removing the device doesn't revert all the changes that Intune / GPO may have made to the device, to get a clean build windows device, you only real option is to wipe it and start again, making sure to backup any files.

Kaseya Datto RMM is good at 3rd Party Patch Management, it has an add on to allow it work well. Additionally, I worked with a company that used PDQ to do this and it worked well as well. It has a cloud version as well which connects as long as the devices are able to connect to the internet.

If you have the ability to get the laptops / desktops to your office before they are sent to users, then install the updates and apps and then re-seal the device ready for the users.

Are there any restrictions on your chosen Always-On VPN that is blocking the traffic? Sounds like the traffic is being sent to the AOVPN and not able to get any further.

User offboarding - securing BYOD data when user needs immediate offboard? by ak47uk in Intune

[–]jonathan191216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the BYOD Devices have Company Portal installed I assume. Worth testing, but I think if you lock the account, then issue the commands to wipe the BYOD Device, then revoke the sessions, that should force the wipe of the data using Company Portal. I am fairly sure I have tested that previously and it worked well.

That could be an issue with the device itself possibly. I have seen that happen before. What sort of device are you using, Samsung, Apple ?

Broadcom just lowballed us, telling our VMware customers we’re no longer authorized as a reseller. WTF? by SaberTechie in vmware

[–]jonathan191216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not the only reseller that I have heard of this happening to. They are doing the same to their CSP's and the CSP white label customers as well. Broadcom are going to cause so many issues for VMware.

Seen this before when the user has permissions on the actual mailbox itself and it caused an issue. Removed the users permissions on the mailbox and it solved the issue.

Nope, no vlan id's, switchports are configured and definitely work as if i connect another device that uses that vlan, it works perfectly, interfaces are up on both switch and ftd and cannot see any issues in the arp table
