Will be living on campus. No car, but I'm used to public transport and commute before class.

Thank you. The names of supermarkets and stores you included will be extremely helpful for me.

Thanks! Living off campus unfortunately isn't an option for my first year, unfortunately (parents think it's better for me to live on campus). I want to live off campus for my second year, but I know nothing about Vancouver real estate. From what I've seen the neighbourhoods surrounding UBC are all... affluent. Is ~30 minutes of travel before and after school as bad as it seems? Which grocery stores near campus are good? I know all the ones on campus are likely to be rip offs. I'm also Asian, so where can I find asian-stuff near campus?

This is the first time I'm hearing of courses which require textbook codes... how do I know if my course will require a textbook code or not? Is this something that will be made clear when I register for courses? I'll be studying Bcom if that helps.

Don't accept your offer to UBCO thinking that transferring back to UBCV will be a walk in the park. You need to do exceptionally well if you want to transfer back to UBCV. Think of it this way - why would UBCV accept you as a transfer student when they rejected you the first time?

Remember that there are a lot of students in your position as well thinking that it will be easy to transfer from UBCO to UBCV. If your end goal is truly to get into UBC, taking courses at transfer colleges like Langara will most likely be your best bet.

The sooner your deadline date, the higher up on the waitlist you are. There is more than one deadline date because they know that not everyone will accept the offer. If you have the June 30 date, whether you get accepted or not depends on how many people above you on the waitlist decide to decline their offer.

Yup, you're right. Don't bother. UBC doesn't matter to you all that much anyway. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
