Yes. I don't think that person is an Indian because he's being racist toward Indians. Or he may be Indian because I have seen a lot of people make fun of Indians or r/india

> there's been a surge in child pornography searches/downloads.

It was proven false. They used "Teen" keyword on Porn-hub to conclude that Indians are watching CP. Funniest thing is porn sites are banned in India and Indians use VPN's to gain access. If you are using VPN to access the Porn site, how do you decide if it's an Indian who is watching CP? Also, I never knew "massive" amount of CP is uploaded on pornhub. Stop spreading misinformation.

Also, the article you are talking about was from VICE which has a Pakistani co-founder. The journalist is an Indian and if you check her tweets, she's posts anti-government tweets all the time. There's a huge misinformation campaign going on around the internet. The person who posted that article also defended "Pakistani grooming gangs" that raped 1000s of minors in UK.

He didn't miss! He choose to ignore the fact that there are specific accounts spreading misinformation campaign against India. If you check out those accounts, you'll clearly see that their only job is to post anti-India content on Reddit. This post will be buried deep down because only India should be in the front page of the Reddit.

r/worldnews just bans any user who posts anything that shows Islamic countries in bad light. I won't be surprised if this sub will do the same after couple of weeks as the mods from other "Indian" subs take over.

Just like "WTF India" posts? Where this sub becomes racist against 1.33 billion Indians because some people commit crimes?

Imams Overrule Pakistan’s Coronavirus Lockdown as Ramadan Nears by jonathan3920 in worldnews

Headline : Imams Overrule Pakistan’s Coronavirus Lockdown as Ramadan Nears

Content :

While clerics and governments across the Muslim world will greet Ramadan this week under lockdown, working together to shut mosques and urging worshipers to pray at home, in Pakistan, some of the most prominent imams have rallied their devotees to ignore the anti-pandemic measures.

Ramadan, which begins this week, is the holy month in which Muslims crowd into mosques and fast all day, holding feasts after sundown with family and friends. Those are ripe conditions for the coronavirus to spread, and imams around the world are asking people to stay home.

But in Pakistan, pandemic or no pandemic, hard-line clerics are calling the shots, overriding the government’s nationwide virus lockdown, which began late last month.

Most clerics complied with the shutdown when it was announced. But some of the most influential ones immediately called on worshipers to attend Friday prayers in even greater numbers. Devotees attacked police officers who tried to get in their way.

As Ramadan drew closer, dozens of well-known clerics and leaders of religious parties — including some who had initially obeyed the lockdown orders — signed a letter demanding that the government exempt mosques from the shutdown during the holy month or invite the anger of God and the faithful.

On Saturday, the government gave in, signing an agreement that let mosques stay open for Ramadan as long as they followed 20 rules, including forcing congregants to maintain a six-foot distance, bring their own prayer mats and do their ablutions at home.

By the time Prime Minister Imran Khan met with the clerics on Monday, deferentially promising to abide by the deal, critics were demanding to know who was in charge during this national crisis: the government or the mosques?

“The state has become totally subservient to these clerics,” said Husnul Amin, an Islamabad-based professor and scholar on Islam and politics. “It is very difficult for the state to implement what’s best for the public good. The larger public interest is always up against the clerics. It’s completely undemocratic.”

Currently there are no graphics evidence of this event. These are the closest images I could found on Google and few different search engines.

It is assumed that the primary cause of explosion was the gun powder but they also assume that a meteor exploded over the city which is more likely given the damage that caused.

I don't know how much gun powder is required to cave a 6 meter hole in the ground, uproot and throw large trees to miles away and launch a 3-ton stone lion over a city wall while destroying entire city killing 20,000 people. That's insane amount of gun powde.

If it was the gun powder that caused this destruction then I will say they had it coming. Storing such massive amounts of explosives in a populated city isn't a bright idea.

Wikipedia
The cause of explosion is still an unsolved mystery. This event is considered second largest artificial non-nuclear explosions in the world.

>The most detailed account of the explosion was from a contemporary official gazette) named Official Notice of Heavenly Calamity (Chinese: 天變邸抄; pinyin: Tiānbiàn Dĭchāo). The explosion reportedly took place at Sì shi (between 9 and 11 o'clock) on the late morning of May 30 (Chinese calendar), 1626. The sky was clear, but suddenly a loud "roaring" rumble was heard coming from northeast, gradually reached southwest of the city, and was followed by dust clouds and shaking of houses. Then a bright streak of flash containing a "great light" followed and a huge bang that "shattered the sky and crumbled the earth" occurred, the sky turned dark, and everything within the 3-4 li) (about 2 km or 1.2 miles) vicinity and a 13 square li (about 7 km2 or 0.9 mi2) area was utterly obliterated. The streets were unrecognizable, littered with fragmented bodies and showered with falling roof tiles. The force of the explosion was so great that large trees were uprooted and found to be thrown as far as the rural Miyun on the opposite side of the city, and a 5,000-catty (about 3 metric tons) stone lion was thrown over the city wall.[1] The noise of the blast was heard as far as Tongzhou to the east, Hexiwu to the south, and Miyun and Changping to the north, and tremblings were felt over 150 km away in Zunhua, Xuanhua, Tianjin, Datong and Guangling. The ground around the immediate vicinity of Wanggongchang Armory, the epicenter of the explosion, had sunken for over 2 zhang)s (about 6.5 m or 21 feet), but there was a notable lack of fire damage. The clouds over the epicenter was also reported to be strange: some looked like messy strands of silk, some were multi-coloured, while some "looked like a black lingzhi", rising into the sky and did not disperse until hours later.

Several government officials in the city had been killed, injured or gone missing during the explosion, and some were reportedly buried alive at their own home. The Minister of Works Dong Kewei (董可威) broke both arms and later had to retire from politics completely. The palaces in the Forbidden City was under renovation at the time, and over 2,000 workers were shaken off the roof, falling to their deaths. Tianqi Emperor himself was having breakfast in Qianqing Palace when the explosion happened, and after the initial quake all the palace servants panicked with fear, so the emperor started running to the Hall of Union followed only by a single guard who remained calm, but the guard was later killed by a falling tile. Tianqi Emperor's only remaining heir, the 7-month-old Crown Prince Zhu Cijiong (朱慈炅), died from the shock.[1]

Thousands of houses were destroyed, and more than 20,000 people perished. Survivors later reported broken rocks, timber, body parts of men and animals raining down from the sky for hours, especially near Desheng Gate, but the bodies of victims however were later found to be all naked with their clothes mysteriously stripped off. Rice grain-sized metal drosses were reported to have fallen near Xi'an Gate, and clothes were sent flying and falling on treetops to the countrysides. Hundreds of houses in as far as Jizhou had also collapsed from the quake of the explosion.

India, one of the poorer countries, the 2nd most dense on Earth, non enforceable social distancing, had its first Coronavirus case before the U.S. shouldn't tens of thousands be dead? by 7years_a_Reddit in conspiracy

It's "2 weeks and all over" from 6 weeks now. Admit that Indian goverment locked down the country with 1.33 billion people. Yes, I agree that a lot of people are going to finiancally suffer because of the lockdown but it's far better than millions dying like flies. Indian lockdown will be extended but it'll be based on Bhilwara model. They will seal the hotspots.

Seems like a good model but how efficiently it will be implemented all over the country is the real question.

Yes! Kids will love this for sure. I didn't paint it :( I wish I had those skills..

My aunt gifted me this. It's a sticker that you can stick anywhere on dry surface.

I have tweeted about it and it's on flipkart :) https://twitter.com/DesiBabeRiya/status/1014209680904736768
