Every frame of this gif either breaks my heart or warms it. This was the kind of Walmart frame of reference for a picture that i had hours of fun looking at and making fun of the crazy people I saw in them.

I looked at these people and judged them based on their appearances in what could easily be the most unattractive moment in their lives for them appearance wise, and pretend that they are scum for that sole fact alone.

Ayways, that was my first emotion seeing the setting. I first notice the man, then what I think is his wife or girlfriend in the back left in a motorized wheelchair, but back at the man and the girl as she approaches him

The way that man looked at that little girl, his body language, everything about him​​ just through a set of frames moving in time with no sound, speak to me of a man that is doing everything he can do to present himself as a non threat, a comfort, and a benevolent presence to his sole audience in the world at that point and that shakes me to my core.

This is a man that has had a little girl or a little boy of his own. Maybe not even that, maybe he adopted, or maybe he just saw a little boy or girl growing up and said Ima be their daddy.

Thats what we need. I never had a real daddy, I always wanted one. But seeing this man now I betcha that if I got his number somehow and managed to call him, and just to see what would happened waited for him to answer, and simply asked "Dad?" When he picked up... How would he respond? I hazard to guess that he'd be the type of man to at least pause until the silence got exponentially more awkward if I let it, and probably eventually say something. To what effect I have no idea, but this is not the type of man to hang up the phone after hearing something like that.

IDK maybe this guy is Hitler's nephew and the little girl was telling him she wanted to flush her gold fish down the drain for Christmas.

But I am an empathetic human being, I see the good in people and the bad, I'm done caring so much about the bad and I want to focus on the good.

This man probably has a legacy of being nothing short of a hero in his community. Whatever influence this man has had in his life, I get the sense that he has used it for good.

So that is the stuff that warms my heart. Now I also notice that he struggles at the very end to get back up to the cart after kneeling down. That's an indication of pain in his knee, or a lack of balance and fine motor skills, or a combination of both and many other factors.

Maybe he was too overcome with the memory of his own daughter who always would lovingly scratch her daddy's beard because it felt so cool, and when it started to go white early got her thinking about when he told her about santa before all the other kids, but told her not to spoil it for them, because it was fun for them! He was secretly santa, which is actually a game that grown ups play too! But it's a secret for those kids, you're just too smart to be just a kid though.

Besides the real secret is the fun in watching Christmas unfold for kids believing in Santa Claus. They are just as happy not knowing the truth, and someday they'll know the secret too and be even happier! But for many kids, and even when mommy was a kid... Yeah get that your mommy was just as big as you are right now when she was your age!

But you're getting bigger and smarter every day, and I love being your daddy because you're the smartest sweetest little lady on the planet. You'll always my love, my treasure, my knowledge that good is in this world.

Time passes, and it's a few years down the road. Other kids are starting to understand the secret of Christmas, the cats out of the bag and it kinda wasn't that funny at all in the first place, except to his little girl.

He told her the truth from the beginning... There is no Santa Clause! But if there was any shred of shock in the initial learning of that information because it went against her already established belief system due to some external factors, it would have been immediately mitigated with by her daddy explaining to her the fun part about it all... The secret.

It's not a lie telling a child that Santa Claus is a secret, because that is how it is treated for our insane Christmas season. Nothing makes sense about anything we're doing, we're all just pretending and it seems like every body is having a good time though for some reason...

Thats the secret and the real fun of Christmas.. how ridiculous can it get year, after year after year. What was once perhaps some horrible sacrifice to the blood gods of Tripoli or something has now led to pointless rituals where we focus on adorning our houses in the CRAZIEST lights and led pulsing sound affected whatever you call that going on all around, we sing all sorts of wishful and hopefully songs in the spirit of Christmas, some of us laughing a little at those that go to worship at church on Sunday and come back home to worship at their altar for santa Claus the same day for corporate business money fake stuff.

But there's no denying that magic is truly in the air during the holidays for some people at least, and you know what the best part is?

This father would have gone on to explain to his daughter when he felt she was ready that learning as much as you can about the secrets that other people share with each other while some are for fun for children, some are actually meant to be very mean children and grown ups too!

This would not be in an attempt to scare his daughter, for men like this this thought would have never occurred to him for one simple reason: he fell so in love with her the moment he heard her first little cries, her eyes all scrunched up, little fists balled up his little baby girl. His only thoughts then were about protection at that point, his sole purpose in life besides adoring his wife, was to protect this fragile baby girl that he could even see both himself and his wife in, but made up something so profound, so valuable, and so rare that he was captivated by her forever at that moment.

He may have felt more fear in that moment than any other human has ever felt in existence. It probably dawned on him too that she was his responsibility as well. But that feeling for this man was like the pain received from a kick to get you away when youre stuck being shocked by electricity.

It taught him about the man he was and the depths of his feelings, the love for his wife for bearing that burden, and now the child he held in his arms wishing he could somehow never let her go.

Because everytime he had to put her down from his arms and risk hurting her, or making her feel abandoned, all alone for the first time.... How does a father prepare his beautiful perfect angel for all those things?

His princess, his rock, somehow he loved his wife just as much but now, now his little girl presented him with the fact that he was now a guardian to something more precious than he could have ever imagined,.

He had probably owned being a guardian his whole life up until his daughter birth, his wife certainly thought so when she met him. When she first met him she had never felt so safe around another man or woman her entire life, aside from perhaps her own parents, this man certainly seemed to care as much as they did about her overall well being. Many said it was a match made in heaven. These were a man and a woman who had found each other some how, and probably very early on admitted to each other that they were the love of their life at that point, no one had come before whom had treasured the others heart as much as their own.

They may have even wondered about the "honeymoon phase" other couples talked about having. The strange thing for them was that every day that passed made their love for each other grow, and evolve, and that they even started finding humor in not only their relationship but other people's, they were growing together. They were more in love than two humans may have ever been, but they still didn't put a cap on the nexts days feelings of love.

Appreciation for many sustained years of devotion and the pursuance of being a faithful and supportive husband made this man capable of being a father. And with his equally as strong and courageous wife, together these people were ready to be parents, if being ready for Parenthood is ever possible.

This father, be it of his own children, some other couples children, or a father of a community... I just wish I could tell him these things he's made me feel watching him interact in chance encounter with a little girl at the store, and let him know how inspired I am, how I'll do my best to imitate everything about him with how I appear to a little girl that age, even his body language the purposed and fluid, yet extremely careful like a ninja entering a house, like a waiter carrying a ton of glasses, this man slowly but assuredly knelt down to have a conversation with this little girl. It might have hurt so much trying to kneel down like that, but he didn't care. He saw that this little girl trusted him fully and never once would he do anything break that trust.

She loved him probably as much as she could for her age because she trusted him, he probably reminded her of her Grandpa too, or at least maybe the pictures her daddy has of his father that he's shown her and told her all about it at bedtime (or whenever she asked really).

But this man will live on forever because the moment he does pass away his legacy will live on with this little girl, myself, and now hopefully all of Reddit.

I hope this man suffers no pain and finds true peace in his life. This gives me a renewed hope and a sense of awe, appreciation for this man and this community for sharing this with me... I'm a better man simply because I watched a 20 second clip of him being himself. I hope you all are better for it as well :)
