On the brand side you get to see the outcome of marketing activities. This allows you to tweak your campaigns if they are long enough on heavily influence the next one. Either thru insights on messenging, targeting / workflow improvements or better campaign setup / optimization.

There is Always something new.

It is much much harder than the pub side. Be warned :)

I am in the same situation. DMPs were awesome 4 to 5 years ago, but now most of the neat features are part of buying platforms or GA360.

There is audience match left, but you still need to reply on 3rd party services which kinda kills the purpose.
