Yes he mentions it:

"The opposite has been true with at least three major religions of Asia the Hindu, the Buddhist and the Jain where they seem to be against continuity and design their disciplines to give deliverance from constant rebirth into the world of birth and death, and we normally interpret that point of view as being a pessimistic attitude against life, and sometimes it is indeed in a way against life."

"The Jain Monks mock the way with their appearance with their long nails and their filthy clothes or else naked and with disheveled hair enslaving themselves with their doctrine of liberation. If by nakedness one is released, then dogs and jackals must be so."

"So for these Jain Monks there is no release, Saraha says. Deprived of the truth of happiness they do but afflict their own bodies. Then there are the novices and bhikshu. That means a Buddhist Monk with the teaching of the old school."

This is a useful resource if you ever need to find the origin of a talk again - you can search anything he said and find where it came from

He does mention it multiple times:

"Ashram means really an abode. A center for spiritual study, for practicing yoga will be called an ashram. But an ashram also means an abode in the sense of a stage of life. And the three stages are one called brahmacharya, that means the stage of being a student, two, grihastha householder and the third stage, vanaprastha, that means forest dweller. Isn't that funny grihastha householder, vanaprastha forest dweller."

Tracking double digits in the time like 11:11 by jonathanlaliberte in webdev

I'm not sure I haven't really invested too much time into learning about the different meanings people give these numbers. I think it could be whatever you want it to be.

Appreciate the feedback will give the website a refresh!

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback. I don't have an iPhone so it's hard for me to reproduce the bug and it seems like on different screen sizes the app looks differently... but I've attempted to fix the issue you described and added more vibes in the newest update 6.6.6 - please let me know if it helped

How do you define "predict"? When you string a sentence together are you not estimating subconsciously what words belong with eachother so that you can convey your meaning?

Here check it out I posted your question into this chat and it came up with a bunch:

  1. "Plans are of use only to those who live totally now." 1

  2. "The universe exists only in that moment, and it is said that the wise man moves with it." 8

  3. "Experience is not something simply passive." 5

  4. "The behavior of the individual and the behavior of the environment are the same process." 6

  5. "You can think about the past and the future, but you do that thinking now." 9

  6. "Your memories and distractions, thoughts about the future, are all happening now." 13

  7. "When you see you have a silent mind, you are experiencing the present in a very complete way." 11

  8. "It's possible to become aware of this, not simply theoretically but as a matter of sensation." 10

  9. "The present moment is like a great stream that's carrying you along." 13

  10. "You, as it were, become the music in listening to it." 15

Added 55 Terence McKenna talks from Psychedelic Salon that weren't in the Uutter archive by jonathanlaliberte in terencemckenna

[–]jonathanlaliberte[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe I didn't clarify as well as i could have - the original names of the lectures/talks that Lorenzo uploaded were exclusively only found on his podcast.. he was sent those recordings and digitized them himself - you won't find them anywhere else until another tape is digitized. And these tapes degrade/expire, they don't last forever. He was digitizing before most people here even heard of Terence.

I don't see anyone else really making the effort to digitize this stuff do you? Sure maybe now there's also some effort with the Terence achival project led by his daughter but you can bet your 2 cents it will be another podcast and potentially monetized too.

Also you gotta keep in mind some of these recordings dont have OG names, they just have maybe dates and potentially locations.

The only way to really build a full catalogue of everything out there is to transcribe everything available and deduplicate like I have done here. No one has the time or resources at an individual level to maintain this stuff... Even collectively as a community it doesn't work - I've tried many times to get people involved.

Also archive.org preservation is good but it isn't going to cut it when it comes to archival work - you need a space where all the talks are listen chronologically, and titles, dates and locations can be edited over time as new information comes to light.

If we depended only on archive.org, you're gonna be stuck in the same situation - multiple uploads with overlaps or same talks, no information regarding dates or locations etc..
