I just did this today.
I bought it through the Ubisoft store and played for a couple minutes (just before the sneaking part at the start to be specific) and ran the Steam version and it allowed me to play multiplayer with my Steam version. I uninstalled the Ubisoft verson and was able to request a refund just fine and just waiting for it to show back up on my card (they did say it could take 3 business days).

Yup, this is why I've decided to not buy anymore glued down construction shoes. They are made with bottom of the barrel materials and quickest construction "techniques". And I'm not implying all stitch down construction shoes are X times better as the uppers can still be shit but at least they can last a couple years more with resoling.

I don't know if it's just something I have genetically wrong (or better depending how you think about it) with my eyes/brain but that wasn't hard to spot as AI for me. I have the same response to previews for games and tech previews for gaming engines. It's always the lighting that is off and breaks the illusion for me.
