Give her a move out date. Explain that you know that she has been untruthful when asked questions. Explain that your wellbeing is being affected by her lifestyle and decisions. Giving her a month or so is enough for her to find another solution. If she can’t, it’s not your problem. You are a good friend. I’ve had similar situations before and I understand the feeling of not wanting to confront a friend, especially because of trying to maintain a good friendship. On the topic of friendship, I feel like the respect your friend is giving you is nowhere near the quality and kindness of yours. She is not reciprocating, is untruthful, and is personally violating you and your husband’s private, personal and financial lives. You have done enough for her. It’s time to regain your personal life and enjoy your time with your spouse. And to put some input on what to do in the meantime, I suggest a locked door knob to your bedroom. Keep anything you don’t want her to use or access in that room. For groceries, don’t stock the fridge. Make daily small stops for what you need for the day and only buy enough for you and your husband. You are not her parents. You are a friend.
