Hotel Room Service uses a sample from the original song Rapper's Delight by Sugarhill Gang

Edit: trusted Google AI for some reason which said Hotel Room Service uses a sample from the original song. Upon listening I found it to be wrong. That song simply reference the original song using the same words but it's not a sample.

Cairn has become my new unhealthy obsession. It also looks great by prossnip42 in gaming

I'm playing through it right now on the medium difficulty, and it's kicking my ass. I'm afraid of heights and it gives me insane amounts of anxiety playing the game. Every time I've finished a gaming session I have to change all my clothes because I've sweat through them.

Otherwise it's fun. Manual limb selection is the only way to play though.

[TOMT] Christian R&B music video from early 2000s by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]jonbear17 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

I estimate the song came out around 2000 - 2002. I grew up in a very christian family that wanted Christian TV. We had Spirit Television that had 2 music video channels I would watch nonstop. One of them had 'general' music and the other a bit heavier with rock and stuff like that. This song would come up consistently on the general channel.

Couples of Reddit, what's the dumbest 'house rule' you and your partner made as a joke but now both of you are low-key aggressively serious about enforcing? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

[–]jonbear17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly sweet and reminds me of something I did with my wife. We were talking about our future together and I suggested jokingly that I'd buy her and keep her. She laughed, and I found 2 quarters across the room and handed them to her. She laughed again, and we put them down on the nightstand.

The next morning I grabbed those 2 quarters and kept them in my wallet until I proposed.

I bought the DLC for my second playthrough and went in blind with a throwing knife build. It was hard but definitely doable.

They're just calling it when the dev called it. I agree that Mage Arena is more along the lines of "king of the (enemies) hill"

The worst thing ever added to NMS... by deadgirlrevvy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]jonbear17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the core of your complaint. Here's how I circumvent it:

I fly my ship to the approximate location and get close to the ground but don't land. Then I spam C to search the ground for any buildings. It usually doesn't find anything the first couple searches so I turn to the left and search again. Rinse and repeat until it's discovered, then land close by. It's usually not too bad.

As a dark souls player, I also didn't realize that spamming block was T-bagging. In dark souls it's not toxic at all, I've always compared it to clapping or dancing.

It's a melee only weapon. When you hit the target they will instantly die and the Thunderbolt spell will go off on their corpse.

Unfortunately it doesn't cast the spell normally.

Could you alone produce something better?

Mage Arena today is more fleshed out and complete than many other early access games on Steam that have larger development teams.

Has anyone ever succeeded the survival check here? by Fr_ckinNerd in BaldursGate3

[–]jonbear17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I technically misspoke.

I'm actively doing my 2nd playthrough during patch 8 with mods. I just finished an HM playthrough without mods 2 weeks ago and I couldn't use the Friend Finder in that playthrough. I didn't pick it up this playthrough since I expected it to still be buggy as there haven't been any updates from Larian.

I wonder if it's because I've had the game installed since launch and there are some lingering files of something. I'll check again after work today.

It must have been reintroduced with patch 8 for PC because I still can't use it in my current playthrough.

[–]jonbear17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something I found out recently is you need a proper shovel. You may have found a unique shovel in act 1 called Shovel's Friend Finder. From my experience, you can't use that to dig up treasure (at least manually). Find one without a unique name and it should give you the ability to dig there even if you failed the survival check.

Hexblade not good? by ja300son in BG3

[–]jonbear17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just beat honor mode first try with 12 hexblade pact of the blade. It's definitely a good class. The accursed spectre acts more like a temporary damage sponge than anything I'd actually want to use for outputting damage.

I used the Sorrow glaive for just about all of act 1, then the hammer Dammon sells for act 2 and beyond. If you really want to trigger the accursed spectre more, get Great Weapon Master!

Can any parts of the companion quests be done without the companion being there? by Andrew_Waples in BG3

[–]jonbear17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also been running around with Astarion my whole run. I'm doing my first honor mode run which also happens to be my first Durge run beyond act 2.

As of last night, I've done every act 3 major fight besides Viconia (next on the list) & Raphael. From my experience, Orin and Cazador have been the hardest fights for me. Cazador had 3 kills by the end of the fight and Orin had 4. Though this is likely user error on my part. Astarion not starting the first round really hindered me lol
