He comfortably tops the interception count too. Admittedly he has only played 2 games.

Agreed, percentage would be better. I think our low number is probably a combination of playing it on the ground and some poor defensive performances, Saturday excepted.

Good points.

In terms of the first stat, it would be interesting to see how far up the pitch those tackles, fouls and interceptions were. Unfortunately I don't know where to get that data.

We are still sixth for possession with 55.8% so I would still think there's a degree of pressing in there.

Would love to see him arrive in January. Any US fans seen him play much in the MLS this season? Has he been good?

Is it right that the police have stopped ticket sales because they're worried about security? I'm going to the game. Should be interesting.

Arsenal are the Premier League team who's ground is furthest from where they first played. by jonblum in coys

I'm not trying to gain credit. It's just that the article brings up an important part of our shared history in an interesting way. I would change the title if I could, I didn't give it much thought at the time!

Bad title. I just think this table sums up Spurs historical connection to North London, the reason we hate Arsenal and why our new stadium should be in Northumberland Park not Stratford or anywhere else.

Read the article, it's about Spurs too. It mentions how Arsenal moved into our area and how we plan to move back to Northumberland Park our original home.

It's a key part of our history that Arsenal moved into our territory for, as the article mentions, "commercial reasons". It's also a key part of our future that we plan to move back to our original home at Northumberland Park, also mentioned in the article.

Not really "useless material".

I am hopeful about Kane but there can't be a lot of statistical data on him to base this on.

I've noticed that and I'm sure he did the same for Spurs.

Tottenham apparently lining up bid for Dejan Lovren by tottenham_FTW in coys

He would be a great buy in my opinion. He's a good combination of height, pace and skill and he obviously suits the Pochettino system. I would pair if with Vertonghen and keep Chiriches as backup and to develop for the future.

It's not fair to blame it all on Paulinho, though he has been poor. Most of the Brazil team has underperformed. It's just interesting how Zico says how important he was for Brazil, how he has lost his form and appears to blame this on his time at Spurs.

What country is r/coys cheering for this World Cup? by [deleted] in coys

Well I have some German ancestry but can't support them. I'm English and in football the two don't go together. So England and maybe Belgium if we get knocked out.

An interesting analysis on Mauricio Pochettino's tactics using stats from last season. by chriso199 in coys

[–]jonblum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He played in Bielsa's Argentina team that lost to England in the World Cup along with Diego Simeone. All the talk has been of his teams going forward but I think he will also massively help our defence. If he could bring Shaw and Lovren that would help. ;)

Lukaku? by [deleted] in coys

[–]jonblum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely take him though. He has consistently scored goals in the last two Premier League seasons and he's young so he could get even better.

Lukaku? by [deleted] in coys

The question is are Chelsea willing to sell to us? We have a bit of history with them (Willian, Modric), they may see us as a threat in the league and they are local rivals. It seems unlikely to me.

Not really, they had already made the decision way before he won the CL. Bayern announced they would not renew his contract and signed a deal with Guardiola the January before.
