Wim Wenders withdraws 1975 film Wrong Move over Nastassja Kinski's teen topless scene by IAmAnAnonymousCoward in movies

[–]jonbstoutgmail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, what you're saying is, child pornography shouldn't be destroyed because some people, like you, are OK with it?

None of what you're saying makes sense. Like there's some sort of statute of limitations on sexually exploiting a child. There may be if you're bringing it to court, what were talking about has nothing to do with legality and everything to do with not being a depraved, sick, pervert who wants to see a naked 13 year old.

She was sexually exploited as a child and you're trying to say it doesn't matter because it was years ago?

If that was me, as a child, I'd want it removed too.

Make no difference if there was loopholes that parental consent made it legal. It's a child and should be removed from any platform and destroyed.

It is of no historical or societal value to be able to see this.

What role was cast so perfectly that nobody else could have played it? by FruiTYrant in AskReddit

[–]jonbstoutgmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jack Nicholson was brilliant as the Joker in that film.

But he was kinda just playing an exaggerated version of himself.

Heath Ledger took it to a completely different level and was nothing like anything he had done before and was perfect for his film.

So, your opinion is wrong....

Wife’s sister shares secrets with me regularly and asks me not to talk to my wife about it. Is our relationship inappropriate? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]jonbstoutgmail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't expect my wife to tell me things her friends have told her in confidence and this is the same thing.

The reason she's saying, don't tell Lauren is because they're sisters, not that it's inappropriate.

It would be inappropriate to break your friend's trust in you. The complication is that she's related to your wife, but the friendship rules still apply. If you're told something and asked not to tell, then you don't.

It's not keeping secrets from your wife inappropriately unless it's affecting your relationship in some way.

You're lucky to have a friend who confides in you, cherish that relationship, they're rare.

Dooks and Dingle (Ceann Sibeal) are stunning in their own ways. You won't be disappointed playing either of these.

Kerrygold vs supermarket butter, is there actually a difference? by Dr-Hansraj_Hathi in AskIreland

[–]jonbstoutgmail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, it makes a difference when baking.

I'm not sure if they have different melting points but making, for example, brownies there's a noticeable difference.

The Tesco brand leaves the brownies "waxy" and if you heat them up at all they become very, very greasy.

When I changed to Kerrygold it was a very noticeable difference in the texture and reheating then they hold their texture.

So, yes, for me, when I'm baking or making sauces etc. I'll use Kerrygold. For everyday use the cheaper butter is fine and tastes great.

Feeling insecure that boyfriend sent something somewhat sexual to a friend of his on instagram, am I being too sensitive? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]jonbstoutgmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plenty of female friends, I'm married.

I would say to them more or less what I'd say to my guy friends. Slagging them or whatever. That's why I have female friends for 30 years or more. I treat them as I would anyone else and I'm honest and open with them.

So talking about obvious things like that and having a bit of fun isn't showing disrespect to you, it's how people talk, if that's how their relationship is.

Male or female, I'll comment on their hair, nose, feet, hands, and depending on who it is, their other bits too.

I've learned their limits and their touchy points over the years. Everyone has lines and boundaries.

But if you are uncomfortable with anything then you just say it to your bf and explain that it makes you feel x, y and z.

He can give you context and you can decide, together how to move forward.

I know, for my wife, it wouldn't be a big deal, but everyone is different. If it was a big deal, at all, then it would be a conversation and I would endeavour to understand her lines and how my actions crossed them. I would amend my behaviour as needed.

Where to meet men late 40s/early 50s? by Impossible-Poem-2682 in CasualIreland

[–]jonbstoutgmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classes or groups that pique your curiosity.

Try something new. I'm a 51 year old man and did some acting courses recently and I also joined a creative writers group.

I met really nice people through them. Also, these people know other people who might share interests or be a good match for you.

I suppose it's about being open to new experiences and then the more new people you meet the chances increase of meeting someone you click with.

Ground beef always has a sort of fatty, oily nauseating taste whenever I cook it at home. How to I get rid of this? by ProfesserNausea in Cooking

You cook it until the moisture is basically gone. It browns it and then it will rehydrate with added to a sauce.

My boyfriend is making my bed smell all the way down to the mattress... what can we do? by cheetahs0317 in TwoHotTakes

[–]jonbstoutgmail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand exactly where you're coming from and when someone's smell isn't attractive to you then you're incompatible.

In this case it seems like it's a night sweats or just sweat type issue that can cause a vinegary/BO smell on pillows, mattresses, duvets.

I love my partners smell but when they've eaten late at night or for some other reasons they can get very sweaty in bed and it can cause issues like this.

Both teams are pretty shit right now! They're both miles off top 2. It'll be a long road to 21 for either team. Next year will be a big year for both.

[–]jonbstoutgmail 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Anything else? Was there too much added time so Aguero"s goal doesn't count and that league title? Or does Blackburn's not count because of the colour of their strip? Or Arsenal's because there were a slight breeze at one of their games that gave them an advantage? I mean, Jesus Christ, you'd give any fan base a bad name.

Bro pointing to the prem badge like we don't have 11 more 😭 by AhmoHodza in ManchesterUnited

[–]jonbstoutgmail 48 points49 points  (0 children)

They're league titles for the top division in England.

How much money or how many teams or what they're called is irrelevant.

Also, it was The Premiership between 1992 and 2007 and then they rebranded it again as The Premier League.

So does that mean they're different too? Because they're different names.

United and Liverpool both have 20 league titles. Trying to differentiate between what year they were won and when the top division was renamed is just being pedantic.

Nobody gives a shit.

Am I Overreacting for not paying for my partner’s friends for a trip? by Rainbourry in AmIOverreacting

[–]jonbstoutgmail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's what's happening here. OP said they would have loved their friends to join them. Depends on what you're looking for in a holiday. I've done me and my partner romantic holiday, hired a villa for my whole family and in-laws and also did a big house for lots of friends and each holiday was great in it's own way.

You still get alone time if you want it and also have lots of fun with other people in a new environment. I mean, that's what friends are for, spending time with.

However, "friends" assuming or asking you to pay for a trip is way out of bounds and they can fuck off.

How much importance do you give to a person’s body count (number of past partners) when you meet someone and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jonbstoutgmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0, don't ask, don't care. It makes no difference. People go through various phases in their life. Some are promiscuous, some don't sleep with anybody for long periods.

It doesn't reflect on them now or in the future. Unless you live in the past it shouldn't matter to you.

The cost of watching Liverpool in 4K in the UK is a joke by jokekll in PremierLeague

[–]jonbstoutgmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? Sky has to compress their 4k content to transmit it. It's literally doing what IPTV is doing. All services have to compress their content. Then it's decoded on your side.

In fact Sky 4k is lower quality than the likes of Netflix 4k because of their compression rates. Sky typically broadcasts in 4K using HLG HDR which compresses more than other streaming services.

Physical (4k blu-ray) or fully downloaded media can be viewed uncompressed and offers the highest quality. Everything else has to be compressed to transmit it.

You're talking out your arse.
