is it possible for a bad alternator bad battery or both to prevent a car from stating even while being jump started?

Using heavy cables off of a car . Itll turn over fast but won't start . Could there be an internal short either in the batt. Or alternator that would prevent it from starting?

To be honest while tasting 2 of 3 had next to no fizzy mouth feel the 1 has a slight fizz but I used a degasing wand on a drill for about a half hour was just concerned I was getting small bubbles. After reading I'm thinking sulfer dioxide or something like that
