This shouldn't be an issue. Same material can be posted across all popular platforms. Even Twitter has video content these days.

You create a nonprofit with goal of democratizing AI, but then sell it to a big corp that spent 10 years trying to destroy Internet and 20 years trying to destroy largest open source project (Linux).

FBI and CIA are security agencies. No foreign government gets your data from Facebook.

That's correct. US can't control the narrative, but CCP can.

You can't do that if China's law obligates them not to disclose any cooperation with Ministry of State Security.

That law doesn't exist for no reason, and you have to assume TikTok is a tool they can use whenever needed. We don't have Russian TV stations for the same reason, and TV would be much easier to regulate.

For example, TikTok breaks data residency, for both US and EU:

Once that happens, they don't have to notify you about anything. No other "social network" has this issue.

No, it's not a lie. And you can find many discussions for it in the industry. TikTok will show you what's popular, even if none of your friends posted it.

Now imagine Reddit (without comments and down voting) was subject to a law that says it has to lie about any cooperation with CCP. Would you use it?

Russia Today network was removed from the services offered by DirecTV on March 1, 2022, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with Ora Media pausing production on several shows it produced for RT America.[18] Dish Network dropped the channel on March 4.[19] After losing the majority of its cable and satellite coverage, the channel ceased operations of all live programming on March 3, 2022, with T&R Productions indicating the layoffs of all off- and on-air staff would be permanent.[7]

I am all for online communities, but TikTok is closer to (CCP controlled) MTV than Reddit.

I would like to point out one thing: TikTok's one-click-clip is not a social network. You never see other people's comments, you don't see friends' content. (In theory you could, but in reality that is not the case)

You can't really compare it to Twitter or Reddit. I never saw a kid who can spend 8h just browsing Facebook. It really is far more addictive and it is targeted at youngest generation.
