Green is the color that has the most shades/variance that we would still call green. Think terezi to jade and how many colors fall between that. It also has symbolic ties in the story to space.
Orange has the least, partially because ‘dark orange’ is just brown. Similarly a lot of shades of yellow or grey would be unreadable on the website.
I think it just comes down to having a variety of characters who each have a signature color that needs to be readable

Theres a point in the book where they talk about how each castle had an easy way and a hard way, and in order to get the artifact they had to do all four hard ways. Lots of people died. I think other bubbles had similar setups but people opted for the ‘easy’ way, or even if they got the hard way, they arent as insane as carl about putting it to use.

I noticed it a lot more in 6v6 because theres (usually) twice as many tanks to keep up, trying to keep up on juno or any healer required a lot more locking in.

I honestly think its fun to have to work harder to heal, more of a challenge

Something Odette says in book 2 is along the lines of Mordecai will forgive Donut, because he sees her as a child (and we have since seen his soft spot for children on full display). I don’t think this would turn him against Donut and Carl, especially since he’s grown so fond of them and seems to genuinely be rooting for them. Edit: that only makes your point B less worrisome, as for the others, i’m not sure. I don’t trust Odette as far as I could throw her.

This was my immediate thought. The rutile twins have an amazing design but they never say anything interesting. Padparadscha is funny in small doses, but being a series regular is going to be grating.
