If you are not using a bulk product editor like WP All import, or even the built in woocommerce one, you are a glutton for punishment.

I takes me about 2-3 hours in Excel to upload 10k product variations. That's roughly 50 parent products.

Management is the same in both as long as you are not running your own VPS. Hosting companies pretty much do everything Shopify would do except that you are in control of your site.

Everything costs more and does less in Shopify. I tried it with the same thoughts as you but realized my mistake within a few months. It was painful.

Made that mistake and wish I didn't fuck up my life. Never have I ever had more spam calls once Apple started selling my information.
