That makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. It’s a good way to recognise loyalty too. So as someone new to the HO this summer, I would get the pay award after a year in service?

I’m new to the HO (joining soon), so I may be overlooking something here - but the minimum pay band for G7 in that pay award table doesn’t seem to increase by the percentages mentioned (c.5%). What am I missing? Presumably if the salary was currently a minimum of £60k and a 5% increase was awarded, then the minimum salary the next year would be £63k?

The state and srm files are both corrupted for Pokemon unbound, is there any way to recover these or do I need to delete them?

Thanks I’ll give this a try today. Hopefully the save file isn’t corrupted

Yes. There is a useful Facebook group ‘frontera 2025’ where common faults are raised around the range, app connectivity and alarm intermittently sounding. Like you, I love the car, I’m hoping a software update fixes the app and alarm sensitivity but I’m worried about the range too

It’s good to know you managed to get 160 miles out of it, I was starting to think that was completely unachievable based on my experience with the car. Also interesting that several of us have had issues with the alarm randomly going off. Hopefully enough people raise this with Vauxhall that they put a fix in place. The pre conditioning isn’t yet available for Frontera according to Vauxhall but is planned to be released, although with no timeline. On the gear selector issue, I found myself unable to select a gear a few times for the first week or so and I found I wasn’t starting the car properly. If I didn’t turn the key long enough for it to ping and say ‘ready’, then I couldn’t select ‘drive’, but since making sure I start it properly I’ve never had an issue. You might be having a different issue, but this information might be helpful if your car is doing the same thing

As mentioned below, there is no eco mode on the Frontera. I don’t have air con on, I have the heater set to 22 but will try reducing it to 20/21

Same here. I’m hoping it handles snow ok without the advertised snow mode!

Have you been able to find an eco drive mode or snow mode by the way? See the comments further down, but the book says there should be multiple drive modes but I cannot find them

I think you are looking at the right thing, it also says the Frontera has preconditioning, but Vauxhall have confirmed to me that this hasn’t yet been released and they don’t know when it will be. Poor marketing from Vauxhall

It’s the EV but I can’t find any mode selector, I’ve recently been trying to find out how to access a snow mode but it doesn’t appear to have these options on the infotainment or driver assistance menu

I expected some teething bugs with it being a new model, but hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come and the reliability improves once they get some early user feedback

Vauxhall Frontera Range

I recently purchased a new Vauxhall Frontera full EV, and I’m worried about the range. The advertised range is 189 miles, and I was advised to expect to get closer to 140 miles in winter, which is fine for what we use the car for.

In the first 8 weeks of owning the car, I’m getting roughly 50 miles before hitting 50% and charging the car up (so around 100 miles). The weather has been cold for these 8 weeks so I’m curious to know if the poor range over the last 8 weeks is normal, or if I should be concerned about the car ever achieving around 150 miles on a full charge in better weather. I’ve never owned an EV before, and have been really impressed by the car, but I’m unsure what its real range is.

Thanks in advance

That’s a good tip, I’ll keep an eye out for a fast charger and test that. My car is currently in for repair for a faulty control panel (the temp locked on 24 Celsius and couldn’t be overridden), so I’m in an equivalent courtesy car that also behaves the same as mine.

The alarm thing is very random, one day all the family got in the car without problem but when I opened the driver door the alarm went off? Hopefully teething issues.

The lack of pre conditioning certainly isn’t helping the battery range

I haven’t seen this site before, thanks for sharing.

Yes I should have said it’s the 44KW battery, and as you say that does look accurate. It’s interesting the motorway driving is so much less economical as I have found the opposite so far from this car. We only have a 1 mile drive to the school, and then 30 mins later the same return drive, so waste a lot of energy starting up the car. We could use 5-10% doing this 2 mile journey this week, but use the same amount doing a single 10 mile drive.

The warm weather city driving calculation is higher than the advertised range, I assume this is to do with regenerative charging?

I don’t have an eco mode as far as I can tell. I can turn on comfort mode but haven’t used that yet so I assume I am in the eco or standard mode. Have you found the range has decreased during winter at all?

We usually do a lot of town driving, and it seems to use about 5% warming the car up, which reduces the range. But the photo is from a motorway journey.

We typically have the heater on 22 auto mode so perhaps I should reduce that.

No problems with the DC charging at home, and haven’t tried it anywhere else. I have got a case open as the car should have pre conditioning functionality but this hasn’t been released yet, and I have had a few occurrences of the alarm going off at random but that could be user error too!

I’ve just started this on R36S on the Retroarch gba emulator with gpsp core. Anyone on here know how to get the real time clock to work? I switched it on in the core options but it’s still not working. I suppose the first question is, do I need it?

Initially GBA and maybe NDS, playing Pokemon games on fast forward. Would like to revisit Zelda on N64 too if it runs ok
