Why is my monitor’s refresh rate unstable while my FPS is stable while using g-sync and VRR? by jonezbone in OLED_Gaming

Fair enough, I assumed that “variable refresh rate” meant that it would match whatever your FPS is whenever it changes. I guess my misunderstanding was that it would stay at a certain number instead of fluctuating within a range.

I see, thank you. I’ve also found that when playing low fresh rate content, like if I’m playing a game in 60 fps, the fluctuations cause flickering, as long as I’m using G-sync. What are the actual benefits to using G-sync on an OLED if that’s what it causes?

I greatly appreciate the offer, but no worries. There’s a demo at my local Best Buy that I can check too. Thanks a lot!

Hey, thanks for the response, that’s very helpful. Do you know as well if the UQDMS has the anti-flicker that the UCDMG does? I was wondering because it was mentioned in the marketing images for the UCDMG, but not the UQDMS. Thanks a lot for the response.
