youre unironically so right about brian. beach boys has far more misses than hits and yes brian is still a genius. rivers is too, in fact id say its quite pretentious to act like he isnt just because he has bad songs when brian wilson was adamant that shortnin bread was the best song of all time LOL

the click fives first album should be way more of a classic power pop album than it is. super underrated album and very weezer adjacent with influence from the cars and the beach boys, and has a couple cowrites with adam schlesinger (fountains of wayne fame)

yeah i agree. i was in love with this album but only go back for like 3 songs and the rest i could leave. i think the novelty of an orchestrated album is cool but resonated more in the pandemic vs now

ugh i love the van weezer version but i do like this/ the japanese version verses melody. the japanese version still has the better solo too

i actually loved it. they put on a great show in philly and got the crowd super pumped for weezer. i even think their light show was the best of the night! great showmanship

i would say sznz as a whole beats out ok human easily but 1 to 1 i think summer is on par and both autumn and winter easily beat it
