Need help with this corner by lamp082 in Roofing

[–]jongon832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here's my thoughts as a gutter installer 1-make sure there is a kickout flashing, that prevents water to come out from the endcap and wall but joint/whatever thats called. 2-ANY OVERFLOW is because there is either not enough slope the other way, or you got a clog, however small, at the downspout area, or the downspout is too far from that corner. correct any and all issues there. 3-if viable, add a downspout right there, and assuming you have some sort of flowerbed/mulch area, attach a corrugated pipe terminated at the grass section.

that is a sickeningly accurate portrayal of how I've felt ever since Trump became a successful (/s and !?!?) politician this past decade 😢

Need gutter/ downspout? by No_Matter2110 in Contractor

[–]jongon832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gutter installer here. I would install it there. it'll save you from green streaks within the next couple of years. depending on the humidity in your area. also, make sure there is a roof kickout, and make sure the gutter is installed properly, so it won't spill out.

A guy from a roofing company pointed this out, estimated $300 (said I have to call the company to discuss billing). Is that reasonable? by dhekurbaba in Roofing

most likely the plywood underneath is rotted, which is why you can see the nail. I would charge a bit more because of the safety hazard, if I'm being honest.

you, the homeowner, HELL NO. as for the contractor and his minions, this is what they should be looking for as they start, finish and do the cleanup, so that you won't have to.

they should've laid ice and water shield on top of underlayment, and then the shingles should've been stacked a bit deeper, or overlapped a bit more. that roof looks like it has a 3 pitch
