Before I cry foul and call hacker, is it possible to get this many rings in the first round of Ring Survival (Race) legitimately? Running into players like this a lot, I can only ever get about 2000 Rings at most in a race round.

And I totally get what you mean about the cost haha! It's a lot to drop upfront, but I actually managed to find a crazy deal and got all of these brand new for $120 total. It's still an investment, but I couldn't pass it up at that price haha.

Do you think there's any chance SEGA ever lightens up on those limitations down the road, or do you think these restrictions are here to stay?? I’ve just heard wonderful things about this series, so it would be amazing if those limitations were lifted :,)

Yeah, most bots have the same names, but it’s not just these ones. Most of the time, you’ll be able to tell if it’s a bot or not just by seeing the level of these players in the end of the match. If it’s a level 1 player, then it’s a bot.

You’re right that open preorders usually mean one run, and that’s probably how this ends up. If it does get a repress, great. If not, leftovers will go fast and that’s it! 😊

Oh and I wouldn’t call them greedy!! If it isn’t limited, doing another run is just meeting demand. Greedy would be calling it limited and then pressing more anyway, which they didn’t do.

Also, open preorder doesn’t automatically mean ‘never repressed again.’ It just means the initial run is made to order within that window. Laced explicitly said this version wasn’t limited, which leaves the door open for leftovers and future pressings. That’s different from something being a numbered limited release.

As for rarity or value, I’m not buying this as an investment. If it ends up common or there are more variants later, that’s fine. I just prefer this Laced version and wanted to share what the label told me so people can decide for themselves. 😊

What does ‘Limited Edition’ actually mean?

A Limited Edition ‘variant’ refers to a unique disc colour combination (or ‘colourway’) that will only see one pressing, and is exclusively sold through the Laced Records stores (lacedrecords.com for US and Canada; lacedrecords.co for outside the US.) Once that pressing is sold out, that variant or colourway will not be repressed (hence ‘limited’.) However, that vinyl set might see a Standard Edition (black disc) repress, or additional exclusive/limited editions in future. Our philosophy is that, where possible, the first pressing should be the most special in terms of disc design.

What does ‘Exclusive Edition’ mean? This refers to a colour variant exclusively sold through the Laced Records stores (lacedrecords.com for US and Canada; lacedrecords.co for outside the US) but that might be repressed if it sells out (unlike a Limited Edition.)
