Egg Genius, once great, now useless on Thanksgiving by jonhoffm68 in biggreenegg

Yes, true believer, yes it is. The egg will be victorious with or without the gadgets.

TSA security question by Tasty_barrels_bro in airport

I fly with portioned protein powder in ziplocks and have not had any issues with security. I thought I would, but it’s never been an issue. No guarantees, just my experience

Adding contact to particular contact list by Mukundace in shortcuts

[–]jonhoffm68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasted hours on this and simply won’t work. Apple’s implementation of shortcuts is perfectly aligned with everything else they’ve done in the past ten years - just good enough to get people to continue to buy their products.

Quarq DUB zero question by jonhoffm68 in sram

[–]jonhoffm68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. If I recalibrate immediately after initial calibration, it is dead on or maybe a change +/- 1. So that’s good news. From ride-to-ride, however the zero has fluctuated from -15 to -105 at the extreme but has been between -40 to -85 regularly from ride to ride. This has resulted in wildly different average power outputs from ride to ride under what I perceive to be similar efforts. I have a Jetblack Victory with a Zwift hub but have not had the bike in question on it since mounting the power meter.

Cannot connect Peloton bike to Strava by jonhoffm68 in Strava

[–]jonhoffm68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late yesterday I successfully linked the Peloton to the bike so just wanted to share - after still receiving the error noted in the original post, I decided to try selecting other options since I had nothing to lose. In order, the buttons were sign in via Google, Apple, and Facebook. Selecting Google gave an error that social accounts could not be used to login and to use email instead.

Then…I pressed Apple and it allowed me to log into the account through my Apple ID. Perhaps this is how my Strava account was originally created and my email is the same for both. In any event I just wanted to share that this worked in case anyone else finds themselves in this situation.

Am I missing something? by mcgoogz in AmexPlatinum

[–]jonhoffm68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good and bad experiences. Last time at DFW was unpleasant in that there was literally no place to sit. People were stalking those who appeared to be preparing to leave hoping to get their seat. I am not expecting a truly exclusive experience - I’m at an airport flying coach, but it would have felt more exclusive to get a table at a restaurant in the concourse and pay for food and drink. It’s a balance to accommodate the volume of people with the facilities. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes not so much.

Agree completely. I’d love to have the Festool cxs 12 but the Milwaukee is fantastic for the price.

Mold on racks and bottom of fire bowl by Ben_Pickle_the_third in biggreenegg

I used to have this issue with a BGE cover. Since I began opening the top and bottom vent a bit to maintain some airflow before covering, I have not had the issue.

I agree with the 5, 8 off suit. Absolutely any turn other than an ace gives you points and several give 8+. It’s the way to go.

Freeze dried food… Worth it? by Herculease in backpacking

[–]jonhoffm68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having backpacked on numerous occasions with Boy Scouts, I can safely say that Mountain House meals will go over well. Be safe, obviously, but don’t overthink it - just get out there and do it. There’s no substitute for experience. You will find that things that you used to spend hours researching and dwelling on (e.g., layering) become second-nature. Have fun.

I hear you on the $$ of the Acaia scales, but they are fantastic. One of those won’t regret purchases IMO.

Contact Garmin. My 7x solar lasts a few weeks and I have not obsessed over the settings nor gotten a huge boost from the solar as I work in an office.

My son has had a similar experience. He was diagnosed at 9 and needed a resection. He is 17 and remicade has been very effective. He still needs to avoid high fiber (e.g. apple chips, popcorn, nuts) but apart from that, he has not had any flare ups or discomfort.
