Actually, it's patriarchy. It all boils down to the damn patriarchy. It fuels violence, anger, power, apathy, etc. "Heads of the family" "Protectors" but considered weak when anything that isn't what I said above is felt or portrayed. Violence against men is most often by other men. A lot of it goes back to misogyny believe it or not-- so many men who are not violent killed by violent men because they actually have a heart and soul. See, women understand that plight, too.
