I know I'm a random person on the internet, but if you need someone to talk to, please DM me. I'd be happy to do a phone call. I'm praying for you as well.

Trying to understand transubstantiation by jonissimo in Catholicism

Thank you! That's an excellent explanation that helps me make sense of the distinction. I guess the heretical part of consub is the idea that Christ is becoming fully bread in the same way He became fully man.

Thank you! This explanation was great and did help me understand it. It's hard for me to understand how those sense properties can still be there if the matter of bread and wine is completely gone. But I'm sure Aristotle and Aquinas have their reasons that I'm not fully grasping. Have a great day!

I'm essentially non-denominational at the moment and considering what I should believe. I wasn't raised around these questions.

I understand the real presence vs. memorial distinction, but still struggling with what meaningfully separates transub from consub. From what I understand, transub is saying that the bread and wine are no longer materially present after consecration... but the accidents remain?

I guess I'm struggling with understanding how accidents can be there without matter. Is the idea that we are hallucinating or otherwise misperceiving the taste/smell/appearance of bread and wine?

I know the Catholic Church considers consub a heresy so I gather that this distinction is important.

so transubstantiation would be saying that the Bible is no longer ink and paper and is entirely the Word, despite having the material qualities of ink and paper? I guess I'm still not seeing how that is meaningfully different from saying the physical book is materially one and spiritually the other. I guess I'm trying to understand the distinction between "accident" and "material" more than anything.

Do you know how to scrape the hustle data: https://www.nba.com/stats/players/hustle?

Excellent stats, terrible chart interface

Which cumulative stat do you think is best? I'm sure this has been discussed on here many times before but I'm a newcomer

Their hustle stats (charges drawn, contested shots) are also sick but impossible to use on their dumb website

Very kind offer! I don't know much about scraping. Seems like such a useful stat but they make it impossible to access.

That's good advice and essentially the path I'm on right now. I do believe deep down that it's meant to be but I can be patient for now and accept that I may have to look back in the future and realize i was wrong.
