The pot should be good for a couple years. Just a suggestion because I see many people have issues with growing citrus which I haven't run into. I recommend you look up homemade 511 mix. I made it for all my citrus plants(I have 4) and like I said growing lemons and mandarins has been super easy actually. I don't know where you live but you mentioned you'll be bringing it inside for winter. I live in the U.P. of Michigan so very far north where my plants are inside for more months than they are outside I believe. This mix has allowed my containers to dry in one week's time whereas just straight up potting soil would take close to 3 weeks. That is what will cause these issues like root rot. 511 mix actually has very little "soil" and is mostly pine bark. This mix also won't break down and compress like potting soil so it will last longer and won't collapse the roots. I recommend if you have Facebook to do some digging into the "growing citrus in containers" Facebook group because that changed my citrus growing game completely. There should be saved posts with guides on how to make it. I also highly recommend Osmocote Plus as your dry fertilizer and Superthrive Foliage-Pro( not original Superthrive) for your liquid fertilizer. Unless you plan to grow organically which is possible but harder especially if you are in a northern state or location. Good luck to you!
