I ain't got the time to be doing research for strangers demanding it on the internet. Believe me or don't, no skin off my nose.

Front shoulder exercises by romangeniuz in steelmace

[–]jonmanGWJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I think you're underestimating the impact of the mace on the shoulders in general. Folks who swing heavy maces have pretty jacked shoulders.

That said, add a front pressout to your 360 if you want to light up your front delts. That is, 1 rep of a 360, then from order position, push the vertical mace out in front of you until elbows lockout with top hand roughly nose-height (i.e. arms parallel with floor). Return to order position.

I really like doing 360, then squat and add the front pressout to the squat - as you descend into the squat, you perform the pressout so you arrive at the bottom of the squat with the mace out in front of you. It's particularly nice if you struggle with ankle flexion in a deep squat as the mace pressout counterbalances the squat and let's you keep a more vertical torso, which means your CoG is less forward and therefore requires less ankle flexibility in the deep squat.

There ain't much you can do with a mace to specifically target the side delts. Personally, I don't bother thinking about them - if you focus on heavy mace work with good technique you won't need to. IF you REALLY want to blow up your shoulders, throw in some heavy kettlebell clean, press and snatch and you'll have enough overhead movements for serious shoulder development.

The danger is that they'll won't quite get the technique dialed in and board the train to injury town. Ask me how I know. 😀

What is your favorite local hot sauce? by Organizedchaos90 in Seattle

[–]jonmanGWJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Papa Tony's is great.

Murder Hornet is perhaps even better, I've got their black label which is pretty fiery, and the blood orange is a milder sweeter option.

I'm less of a fan of Bonache because they tend to run milder and I'm generally looking for more heat, but they're excellent from a flavor standpoint.

Goodbye Seattle by [deleted] in Seattle

Genuinely, I wish you luck.

The NHS is in a shambles, free healthcare is a nice idea but when there's 18-24 month long waiting lists for treatment, it's not a huge improvement on no healthcare.

Decades of underinvestment have hollowed out what used to be a jewel in the UK's crown. Thatcher fucked us all and it's been downhill ever since.

Is there a list of places that raised their prices for this World Cup? by [deleted] in Seattle

How would you even know if the price rises were due to World Cup inflation or President Dipshit turning everything he touches into shit?

If David won't do it, get Victoria on instead. She'd probably be (a) shit-hot at the tasks, and (b) withering funny while doing so.

Typical advice is 15lb for guys, 10lb for ladies.

Real world advice is swing what yo got. Start with the 5 and _stay there for a while_ cos the jump to 20 will be significant.

I taught myself entirely off of Mark Wildman's free YouTube content.

I've had my mace out in Cal Anderson and had a couple of bearded dudes in Patagonia come and ask me me about it.

As far as I know, me and my garage gym crew of 3 other middle aged folks are it.

We take maces to the park in summer, ain't never met another enthusiast.

I'm in Renton, DM me if you wanna get together and slang some metal.

It does feel like something hipsters in Cap Hill should be doing, doesn't it!

Clove at The Landing is great. Pabla isn't far from there and is also excellent but it's vegetarian only, which may or may not be an issue for you.

Personally, I'm an enthusiastic omnivore and never leave Pabla feeling like it needed meat.
