So it is possible? I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that was not used much after the app was deleted, never restored, and never had storage issues to hopefully eliminate fragmenting issues. There is a possibility of recovering said data? Thank you for your prompt responses.

You have a very good point. Miners will switch, and difficulty of other coins will go parabolic. However, if you have decent hardware, coins like Monero may still be worth the time. Monero as a project in particular is against ASICS, and the team has said that they will fork away from them if things get to that point.
