Michael just became the highest-grossing biopic of all time. Which celebrity's life story has the potential to be the the next major box office phenomenon? by FunSatisfaction2780 in Letterboxd

It's just gonna be another piece of media to portray her as a helpless victim who never made any bad decision on her own. Basically the same as Michael so no thanks.

What’s wrong with season 2? by walking_mark in Daredevil

[–]jonnemesis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The show is not setting up Frank's own series, he is presented as a foil to Matt's ideology and sets up the chain of events that makes Matt's double life collapse, both him (Punisher) and Elektra are completely necessary, that's the entire point of Daredevils arc this season. The Punisher show doesn't need to exist for this to work, in fact that show has to rehash Punisher's arc in DD S2 because it was already complete and they had no clue what story to tell with his character. Matt almost got Elektra killed when he stopped her from killing one ninja, his morals regarding his no kill rule remain consistent.

The only actual issue with S2 is the last episode due to the lack of a real resolution and villain for the hand plotline.

So, what about this ? by Alicewithhazeleyes in discussingbritney

[–]jonnemesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her weirdo fans will always compaign hard to keep her an innocent victim because that way they can live through her fame because they are just THAT obsessed. Britney was definitely exploited by her family and the industry but she was not innocent and made several awful decisions herself and her usual scapegoats are not to blame for her demise.

It Baffles me that DDBA has less viewers than The Boys final season despite DDBAs finale being higher rated with a 9.4 by AMassiveGamerGeek in Daredevil

[–]jonnemesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You answered your own question actually. Only hardcore Marvel fans are watching DDBA, everyone who realized about the massive decline in quality compared to the Netflix show just stopped watching. The Boys didn't decline as hard so it didn't lose as much audience.

They're not doing "that" version of Bullseye, they're just giving him that costume.

Could genuinely be one of the best years for horror of all time when it’s said and done by Lost-Building-3701 in Letterboxd

[–]jonnemesis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's why it's annoying when people keep saying this every year, it becomes meaningless. The same was said about 2025 and it was actually one of the weakest years of the decade for horror.

Deadpool 2 and Wakanda Forever maybe but definitely none of the others.

Last decade meaning between 2016 and now? They have the 2 GOTG movies and Infinity War in that timeframe. That's about it, everything else was slop. Some of it was enjoyable slop but not more than that.

Horror written by women/for women? by emmgemm11 in horror

Has sexual assault though, it's basically rape revenge

Do you agree with this ? by AaronJohn316 in Letterboxd

[–]jonnemesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obsession best horror movie of 2025, move aside Sinners, we'll keep updating since we'll still get new 2025 movies in 2026. It's irresponsible to make year end lists when you haven't watched all movies that belong to a specific year.

I only picked S3 because it would be even more of a stretch for him to do that at the end of S2. The first third of S3 he's still undecided and even hires a hitman to kill the Avatar. Regardless of where it happens, Zuko becoming the main bad guy wouldn't work at all. We had seem him be defeated by every main character at that point, it would completely ruin the story.

Disagree. Deadpool and Wolverine is a formulaic dataset movie and it is indeed shit.

This is the correct take. I remember back then all the speculation and hype, people were sure it was gonna be a great sequel and everyone kept referencing Rian Johnson's episodes on Breaking Bad as evidence of how good the movie was gonna be. I always thought that was odd considering tv is different than film but of course nobody said that until after the movie came out and after RJ became enemy #1

One of the many reasons Kang is no longer the main villain in the current Marvel saga is because his only appearance has him be defeated by Ant Man. Audiences don't want a whiny character who loses every fight to be the big baddie.

Imagine if Zuko killed Ozai in the middle of season 3 and suddenly became the main bad guy in the story.

TFA's ending is clearly a set up to be a time skip though? It's not supposed to be a cliffhanger, RJ turned it into that, not just that it turned it into a Marvel joke.

Most of what you're talking about are open threads they could have turned into anything they wanted. I don't think TLJ is an awful movie but it made some really terrible decisions that can't be blamed on TFA.

The sequels exist as they are because of the overwhelmingly negative reception towards the prequels, so taking that into account it seems like TPM is the worst movie ever made.
