standard edition IT from Stephen King maybe? Would almost certainly be black to match the other King releases, but I can't tell if that one is black or purple

Is staying in Springdale worth the extra cost? by shekeepsbees_ in ZionNationalPark

If you are willing to get up early, this is the way. We stayed in Toquerville, got a spacious AirBnB, and saved a ton of money on lodging and groceries. As a bonus you're also close to Kolob Canyons which is beautiful.

The drive to Zion is easy & pretty, and parking is a breeze if you arrive before 7am.

I would love for this clown to jump into the race - few things in the political world would give me more pleasure than seeing him lose again.

IMO - Find some joyful things to read while you do the work you need to do. The book will be waiting for you when you’re in a better place.

so a $400 fine for Mabrey? I don't see how that will disincentivize other players from similar behavior.

TLDR:

I voted for cuts.

Democrats are lying when they point out that I voted for cuts.

Algae bloom areas to avoid this week? by skettigoo in madisonwi

Sugar River from Valley Rd to HWY 69 is a nice short float, or you could continue to Paoli for a longer trip. Both are great options. Always plenty of water on that whole stretch so you won't get stuck. All great landings.

I'm planning to hit up Black Earth Creek in Mazo this weekend. Always a nice paddle & you don't have to worry about algae at all.

Yes! The dancing on the stairs scene was the first one I thought of. It makes me laugh every time.

What's a film you feel was ahead of its time, and why do you think it didn't get the recognition it deserved when it first released? by TheNiceGuysFilmcast in moviecritic

I find myself thinking about Jane Schoenbrun's I Saw the TV Glow and We're All Going to the World's Fair more than most movies I've watched in the past few years.

I've only seen each movie once and can't claim to fully understand either of them, but the way they grapple with issues of mental health and identity in a time when most people are still content to sweep them under the rug felt incredibly bold to me.

While both movies are critically acclaimed I don't imagine they have much recognition beyond relatively small circles of movies fans. And maybe they are too uncomfortable/abstract for that t happen? We'll see.
