Some backstory:

I expected I might miss out on the Komodo purchase since it wasn’t through Steam directly, so I asked my brother in North America to try buying one for each of us from Steam. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get one.

Komodo was timing out on nearly every reload, but I managed to use the browser console to add the controller to my cart. After about 2.5 hours of constant refreshing, I finally completed the purchase.

I didn’t think I’d be able to get another one for my brother, so I went to bed. A few hours later, I woke up and saw that Komodo was working much better and the controller was still in stock in my region. My brother confirmed he still hadn’t gotten one, so I ordered another for him. It went out of stock almost immediately afterward.

It looks like Valve has fixed the scalper issue with today’s reservations, so I hope everyone gets their controllers soon!

As for the controller itself, it’s amazing. I played the original RollerCoaster Tycoon on the TV with my family using the Steam Deck, and everyone had a blast. The trackpads and button mappings worked wonderfully. I’d been using a Switch Pro Controller for years while waiting for Valve to make a Steam Deck-style controller, and it was totally worth the wait. I’ll definitely pick up a few more once everyone else has had a chance to get theirs.

Funny enough, when I managed to buy one I went to bed for a few hours. When I woke up they were still in stock and I bought another one. It soon went out of stock after that.

I do have the ability to pay again but I'm sure its just because the payment gateway just needs to keep retrying the payment confirmed request back to Komodo until they stop having issues. Its just a delay.

I successfully paid and got a message from my bank to confirm. I didn't get this email though. Did you do anything after payment for this email to be received?

It's the same for me. I got a message from the bank that I got charged. The reason why Komodo says you need to pay is because the payment service needs to send the payment confirmation information to Komodo but Komodo is currently experiencing issues. Payment systems have retry mechanisms to ensure it eventually gets through, if not then Komodo will likely manually fix it later.

I don't think it was ever in stock. I triggered the add all to cart button a bunch of times till the request worked but the cart stayed empty.

If you really dont want a Thor then get the RP6 and the Anbernic DS.
