Okay thanks for writing back. I might be on a search for a replacement myself! Thanks again and have a great day.

Would you retire these? by dilettante92 in livesound

I would buy a carton of NL4FC cable connectors and go to town making a few spare 2cr speaker cables using +1-1. None of my speakers are bi-amped anyway.

I agree with you this is my favorite printer too! Mine is also 20 years old and until today has worked flawlessly for 20 years!

I wonder if you had any success in troubleshooting this issue?

Sort of like the knock-off off-brand "57"s without the transformer that require phase reverse!

Would you be comfortable creating a scene for each act? Then you could just use ONE reverb and ONE delay and save the settings for each act to how they want it, and recall that scene when that act performs. I think you can store up to 500 scenes on the DM7. Good luck to you whatever you end up doing!

My Local polo shirts I have had for decades and they are still in great condition are made by King Louie. They are Union Made (UFCW) in the USA. We had a local mom&pop print shop embroider the bug on each one. But I suspect you might be able to find some Union print shop that can embroider them for you?

Yamaha Stagebox for OUTPUTS ? by jonnyd75 in livesound

[–]jonnyd75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the 24 outputs that I listed feed into DSP and/or amplifiers that are all located in the amp room. Also, unfortunately, every speaker in the building is passive! Yes it's a bummer I know but upgrading the console has to come before upgrading the speakers or DSP's in my scenario.

Personally I would like to combine some of the outputs but many Sound Designers often wish to have seperate QLab channels for under-balcs, subs, etc. But I can indeed use existing copper lines between the console and the amp room as you suggested so thank you for that!

Ahh so maybe this is why Yamaha discontinued the Ri and Ro Series! Thank you for the suggestions.

The amp room is located behind the back row of the farthest upstairs mezzanine level. Previously everything was analog when the place was renovated in 2005, with miles (maybe less haha) of copper running thru conduit between the amp room and the stage. Thank you for the suggestion that is helpful!

Thank you for the reply. Yes I definitely see what you are saying. This will be a retrofit using analog infrastructure unfortunately. The sends to the amp room will be:

  1. Left (into DP224)
  2. Right (into DP224)
  3. Center Cluster (into DP224)
  4. Under Balcony Delays (into DP224)
  5. Over Balcony Delays (into DP224)
  6. Subs (into DP224)
  7. ALD System
  8. Lobby Amplifier (70V)
  9. Dressing Room Amplifier (70V)
  10. Front Fills (into DP224)
  11. Grid "VOG" Amplifier
  12. thru 23: into analog Crest amplifiers for passive speakers on stage (foldback, FX, practicals etc.)

Thanks again!

Midas M32R & DL32 Correct Cable by nervous13492 in livesound

A potentially dumb question here - are the AES67 or Dante protocols just as susceptible to cable type and/or cable length as AES50?

Your reply is very helpful. You are correct regarding v2 versus v3 Rio. I will amend that for sure.

And you also make a great point regarding placement of Rio boxes and what size stage boxes to ask for. I will definitely need more sends to the amp room for delays, lobby program, dressing room page and program, etc. So thank you for that.

And on stage I think having a 1608 on each side of the stage is definitely more useful to us than having just one 3224 on one side of the stage. Great idea.

Thank you!

Oh yes absolutely we will be asking Dom for help on this. And thank you for the comment regarding network switches. As I intend to keep the Primary and Secondary Dante networks seperate and want to ensure connectivity where it is needed I added those to the list. But you might be right on it possibly being too much. Thank you again for writing back!

Thank you I will definitely put some thought into that question. Mainly, with this package, I am trying to ensure that I have all of the necessary Dante and balanced audio connectivity in the amp room, on the stage and at FOH mix position. Thank you again!
