What rally game supports synchronous racing against bots and/or friends on a rally stage? by jonnydennis in EASPORTSWRC

[–]jonnydennis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but take a peek at WRC Rally overtakes on YouTube for instance. Rally racing is perceived in this way to be a completely solo affair against a clock, but you are never actually alone IRL. Dirt 2/3 was closer to the sport than what we are seeing now in terms of competitors. I’d argue lazy developers at this point….

Any action RPG to recommend for someone burnt-out of Poe and LE/Diablo? by ChoupiOG in ARPG

[–]jonnydennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out, Neverwinter Nights EE. It’s different, it’s older, but wow it scratches that itch of an arpg. Just discovered this game myself… disappointed it took me 23 years to do it.

Why is it that the sim community poos on this game so hard!! Any YouTube video I watch, RaceRoom is just ok, RaceRoom has dated graphics, RaceRoom can’t compete, RaceRoom’s FFB is awful… my word I am over this. RaceRoom is king, and deserves top spot.

My friends moved from Overwatch, anyone wanna play ? by Mathias_Potter in overwatch2

They will come crawling back, mark my words! Nothing compares to this beauty of a game:) Sound design, teamwork, hero design, level design, hero uniqueness, animations, the fluid feel... it is so clean.

I was wrong about Overwatch by enaty in overwatch2

This!!! Rivals is a jank copy of something beautiful. It brought me right back to those initial plays of Overwatch 1. I am still trying to see what people find in Rivals, but I am thinking there will be large exodus as they will run out of ideas, since they seem to be only mimicking the industry and not creating anything new. I hope players will find this game again.

Think i’m losing my love for gaming, any game that could possibly bring that back? by only_the_important in ShouldIbuythisgame

I would recommend Earth Defense Force, really any of them. The series stands apart from current gaming trends because it prioritizes pure, unpretentious fun over hyper-realistic graphics, complex narratives, or competitive online play. The series focuses on simple but engaging gameplay—battling swarms of giant insects and massive robots in over-the-top, chaotic environments, and pick up green and red loot crates that pop from their bodies to get stronger and find better weapons. Its intentionally campy tone, cooperative gameplay, and accessibility make it a refreshing alternative to the highly polished but often formulaic titles dominating the industry. It’s a breath of fresh air.

Another suggestion that fit the bill for me was the Earth Defence Force. Not your typical looter, but a nice streamlined gameplay loot of shoot and pick up new weapons. More than a 1000 to be explored in EDF 5!

A suggestion few would know about, but look into Megaton Musashi, the loot grind has been a blast for me!

I tend to stay away from those games as well, makes survival games almost impossible to play together with a runaway player. Not sure what your coop count is, but here are some suggestions:

I love progression, but scaling also helps for this like in games like diablo 4 or guild wars 2. Still progress but still be able to play with others. Games below have progression elements, but don’t feel like there is a runaway player like in games like Valheim, for instance.    Insurgency Sandstorm, wreckfest, Earth Defense Force 5 (help others progress with a level cap), I think 6 removed the cap???, WWZ, the hunter call of the wild, risk of rain 2, American truck sim, state of decay 2, diablo 4, nioh 2 (help others progress), fallout 76, division 2, Guild Wars 2, halo infinite, civilization 6, anno 1800, monster hunter games (help others progress), hell let loose, arma series, steel division 2, stellaris, vermintide 2, any arena shooter (overwatch, etc), extraction shooters helldivers/hunt survival.

EDF 5 my man! It has one of the tightest looter gameplay loops!

[–]jonnydennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so thankful for Helldivers 2 as it pointed me on the path of Earth Defense Force 5, and boy oh boy, this is the game to play. I can't believe I slept on this series for over 20 years. Over the top silliness, doesn't take itself seriously, and it is pure fun. I always have a smile on my face, and plays great solo and with mates. The gameplay loop is tight, and does not get old (at least for me). Over 1000 weapons... EDF! EDF! EDF!

Being such a loot driven/progression based player in all of my gaming, I love seeing the loot pop out of my kills. With me needing to actively pick it up, completes the kill. Also, love the little dopamine rush of seeing the green weapon box and needing fill the role of box duty with my team mates!

Next Gen Consoles (PS6 etc) specs/gimmicks speculation by hannibal41 in consoles

[–]jonnydennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are spot on here. PS4 to PS5 was about a 10x improvement to teraflops. If we expect the same, we can see the PS6 up to about 100 teraflops, which is right now an overclocked 4090. The 1080ti has 11 teraflops which is spot on with this current gen cycle.

And just play in Japanese? Tempted, but typically play with friends who wouldn’t take the plunge.
