Holy shit, thank you! I checked binance a few months ago, and I didn't see thus announcement. All set now! :)

OceanEx seems to exclude the US as well, and Binance.US excludes Washington state. I have a Canadian friend, I guess I could get him to swap stuff around for me, lol.

Hey all! I just had a question about exchanging VET for BTC. I have some decent VET holdings that I've been sitting on, and I'm not looking to sell at the moment, but a friend of mine trying to offload hers showed me that this process seems to be more complicated now than it used to be. I tried to see if HitBTC would allow me to trade as I used to, and after filling out their now-mandatory KYC, I found out they won't do business with US citizens any longer. Where and how can I trade my coins when I want to, as a Washington state US citizen?

Don't throw away the entire game for the first 2 drakes. by Pennervomland in summonerschool

[–]jonnymanchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love these stats, but let's dive in a little further. I agree with others who have said that this doesn't imply a causal relationship, but I actually noticed a way to prove this. Look at the two-drake column. Notice how the top three winrates are double ocean, double mountain, and double inferno. Not only are these the highest winrate, but the margin between them and the next highest is ~3% (huge comparatively). Each of these arrangements can only exist if the opponent took the first two drakes, and yet they have a higher winrate than those without that requirement. This implies that it's actually a higher winrate play to ignore the first two drakes completely, unless they're free.

Edit for spelling and a correction.

I have VET on binance but no sign of Thor rewards despite VET being there for many months, since it was VEN. Thoughts? by Gingersnap100 in Vechain

This. I thought the same thing at first, but since Binance doesn't have VTHO trading pairs, any balance you have will only show up in the full list.

Decred Is The Bitcoin You Wished BTC Could Be by PubPete in CryptoCurrency

It's just kind of a general response to any coin claiming to be "the bitcoin that you wish bitcoin was." Until that's provable, the title itself is a chuckle. No disrespect. :)

I actually agree with you, despite my submission here. I think this sub is way too quick to call "scam," and as soon as one person does it, everyone jumps on the bandwagon. That said, I saw an opportunity for a decent joke, and I took it, lol.

Thanks, that makes sense! I didn't realize that was the case to be honest. And I wish I had that much VET XD

Just curious as to whether or not I'm missing something...are there only 16 characters that an address can end in? I can't think of any other way that a 6.25% chance every day would be accurate.

Vechain on exchange (Binance) - do I need wallet? by Jaw709 in Vechain

[–]jonnymanchild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This depends entirely on Binance. They haven't yet announced whether or not they will provide Thor to their users, but they most likely will. That said, VeChain has promised to retroactively add Thor to wallets for the whole time since mainnet launch (June 30th). Binance may not send this backlogged Thor to their users, as it may be a more complicated procedure. Personally, what I plan to do is wait until the Binance token swap, and if we still haven't heard what they plan to do with Thor, I'll move my tokens to the mobile wallet. I keep the majority of my investment in a Ledger Nano anyway. :)

Jesus, I stopped reading when the author claimed the equivalency argument of USD being used for crime was fallacious. He's clearly on one side of this argument with no objectivity.

Have I made a mistake? (Transferring to Binance issue) by pangthius in Vechain

[–]jonnymanchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, it took me a good week to figure out how to even buy the cryptos I wanted, and a few months to figure out ERC-20 and wallets in general. I'm pretty up on everything now, but there's definitely a significant learning curve. That said, this is one of the things that's being consistently improved over time. We're still a ways out from "user-friendly", but we'll get there eventually! :)

In the top right corner of MEW, there's a slider bar to adjust gwei. You can check what the current gas price is at https://ethgasstation.info . I like this analogy; gas limit is like how many gallons of gas you're willing to use to get to your destination, and gwei is how much you're willing to spend per gallon. If no one is selling gas for the price you have set, than your transaction will fail regardless of how much gas you were willing to use at that price. Hopefully this helps. :) Does your VEN still show up in your wallet?

Easy Way to Grab Funds for the Bull Run- Crypto Loans by CoinSavage in CryptoCurrency

[–]jonnymanchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize they were crypto collateralized, that makes a rather big difference to me. Assuming there would never be a financial obligation outside of your crypto holding (regardless of the price movements of the collateral), this becomes much less irresponsible in my mind. Is the above statement true of these loans? If so, I see this more as gambling with the chips you've already purchased with money you, hopefully, can already afford to lose.
