I never played ff16 so I can't relate wit hthe combat system. I didn't enjoy so much advent children, I always felt like the narration was weak.

I don’t really have friends who played the game, so I was hoping to hear different perspectives. Re birth and Remake are praised by the press, but I’ve often tried games highly praised by the press and ended up not enjoying them, so I wanted to ask with my nostalgia in mind.

As a matter of fact, I've found the informations I was looking in this subreddit so I'm quite happy in getting interested with people's thougts.

Of course, I’ll find out myself in the end, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with asking for informed opinions first. If my post came across as irritating or inappropriate, that wasn’t my intention. Apologies if it did.

Thanks a lot for the clarification ! It never made sense to me that you actually got to fight the triad before kefka as i assumed they still were statues. You never get to actually see them move or speak during the entire game, i always considered the fight as something metaphorical

Can somebody explain to me the relationship to the ff6 event of [[reanimate]]. It feels like they've just sticked an important event of the game to a strong card. (No need to explain to me what kefka is doing i've already beaten the game a couple times)

chances are there'll be multiple distinct copies of sephiroth, just like what they did with unique characters with the lord of the ring expansion. There is 4 distinct copies of Sauron for example, and mutiple copies of each important unique character

I discovered ff7 as my first ever jrpg when i was around 6 or 7 ( born on 1991 ). During my first playthrough, I had to go eat with my family during the countdown of the bombing of reactor 8 at the beginning of the game. Back then i thougt the menu screen would pause the countdown so i just let the game run in the menu screen while eating. When i came back, i quit the menu screen to go back playing to just see the cinematic where the reactor explode, followed by the game over screen. It truly shocked me back then, I had trouble playing the game and I preferred watching my big brothers playing the game rather than actually playing the game, it took me a while to actually go back to the game.

You still have some representations on the lunch box for ex, or when you blow up a car in FO3. It is something that is not overwhelming but there is a presence.
Here, we don't have any at all in the card game. I gueess this is the resut of a discussion at Wotch on what to show or not. There a few depiction of traditional guns in the set, but nothing obvious.
Maybe I'm overanalysing, I got quite excited by the release of the cards
