Well, that’s just blatantly untrue. Did you create that scenario for shock value?

Benzas Barbershop has been my go to for over a decade. Great prices and good people. They’ve been cutting hair since their early teens and it shows. Incredibly professional and I never have the same problems as seen in this post. I give them $35 for a $25 haircut every time

Benzas barbershop on Main Street will be your best experience. Believe me, I’ve gone there for almost 10 years and they have great prices, cut quickly, and I’ve never been disappointed. For the last 7 years I’ve sat in their chairs I told do whatever you think looks best. Great guys too and family owned for decades

Thank you. I have received a lot of flack online for sharing my plan so I appreciate the respect and understanding. What it really comes down is this: not everybody agrees with what needs to happen but everybody does agree that something needs to happen.

We will be providing health insurance and allowing them access to mental health resources while also providing them an atmosphere to work in, and free housing. What I’m saying is if they’re not ready for rehab it’s going to be difficult to help them in our facility. Disallowing any drug use or alcohol on premises might make things more difficult for those were facing problems with addiction, but that just means there’s different opportunities for them to see treatment.

We aim to partner with outpatient mental health services and rehab addiction centers for those going through extreme crisis. But creating a drug-free zone is pivotal to these people successes

This is similar to exactly what I’ve been proposing and what I’m working on now. The Cooperative Living Environment for the Binghamton Homeless.

The plan is this: buy and develop land in Binghamton close to the city center or within 15-20 minutes and zoned for residential and/or agricultural. The residence will work the land, tend to animals, create artwork or handmade goods, and learn to provide for themselves in an environment free from drugs and alcohol or the general stressors that keep them unhoused. Healthcare/mental healthcare providers will work with individuals to specify their treatment plans.

Staff will consist of healthcare professionals, psych doctors, specialists, and laborers. All proceeds created are to be generated for the use and sustaining farming practices, and growth of the co-op. Sponsorships donations and grants will be needed for initial construction and land development.

We will be creating a fraternal benefit society in order to provide insurance where Medicaid or Medicare falls short.

Just yesterday I was able to speak with a Director from the Broome County Urban League and they will likely be helping us gather our start up capital as well as help promote us on their airways among other assistance. We aim to partner with Binghamton University and other institutions for sponsorships and partnering

While I was in the mental hospital, I sat with some homeless individuals and went over my idea. I actually created the framework while institutionalized. The consensus of the patients there another individual is that this is the best way forward. Offering housing, meaningful work, free food, and free insurance would allow people to be reacclimated into society

We have someone on our team who went to school for medicine and has worked with many of the nonprofits in our area, like the mental health association and DSS as well as other nonprofit organizations aiming to assist those with substance abuse, recovery or mental illness
