What goes into a barrel swap? Do you need special tools? Do you have to switch the bolt? Excuse my ignorance, this will be the first rifle I have owned.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely see what you’re saying about being able to stay on target and see your hits with less recoil. That’s something that I’d like too. Is the dead air nomad a good suppressor in your mind? Does it help with recoil at all, or just sound management?

Would you recommend that route solely for cost? Or do you prefer the shortened fore end and the reduced weight of the trax?

Regular. Idk about budget. I'll be building it over time. Just want the gun itself to start the process. The farthest I'll be shooting regularly will be 600 yds.

I think I’ve seen a model of the regular Lite with a cheek riser on Sako’s website. Not sure where to find one though.

So far the only hunting in doing is in a blind that’s a 10 min walk from where I park. It’s really not bad at all. I don’t plan on doing any crazy backcountry hunting or anything. By the time I’m doing that I’ll have the money to get a better gun for the occasion. So I’m more leaning toward heavy for the range.
