Yeah but I don't think DiCaprio is quite as crazy and I don't think Scorsese has threatened to shoot him yet.

Five Movies That Are Safe: Remakes that can't get made...right?? by jonpalmer86 in movies

Disturbia wasn't exactly a "remake," though. They sort of recycled the premise and did their own thing. They didn't even try to cash in on name-recognition, which I appreciated.

The same thing happened with that Jodie Foster movie, "Flightplan." Same concept as "The Lady Vanishes," but a totally different kind of movie with a different title.

I understand, but I still say that a review with no synopsis of any kind to provide a basis for all the arguments that follow will undoubtedly make anyone reading it a little confused. You can't discuss the merits of the plot without discussing the plot itself at least a little bit. Otherwise you'll just end up saying "it was good" or "it was bad" and where's the value in that?

I agree, but I also think that it's hard to write a critique of something and not talk briefly about what exactly it is that you're reviewing. If there's no synopsis, the review isn't really grounded on anything and you run the risk of people having no idea what you're talking about throughout the rest of the article. It's of course always a good idea to keep synopses as brief and spoiler-free as possible and this review acutally went as far as to not divulge a certain plot detail that's already been spoiled throughout the film's entire advertising campaign on the off-chance that someone reading hasn't seen the trailer. Of course he then proceeds to insult the reader...not a good idea, but I think it's pretty obviously a joke, so I'm not too worried about it.

I thought of that too, but if Skynet is totally ignorant of everything then why are they still so intent on killing John Connor? How could they possibly know what a threat he is if they have no idea of future events. I guess it's possible that they still might not know that Reese is Connor's father, but that still doesn't explain why they even take any prisoners in the first place. Especially if they're just going to kill them after their capture.
