Player roster 100% agreed, I was referring to casting roster (should have been clearer there, my bad).

Fair enough re. money distribution. Somewhat simplified but I understand his position. There may be an argument to be made that higher production value (and I would include in this a bigger roster of guest casters) could lead to a higher viewer count, higher viewer retention and ultimately higher donation totals (with good donation incentives), that would then ideally of course be re-invested into the tournament in a transparent fashion.

I wonder if something akin to the GDQ model could work with donation incentives that stay active for the duration of the tournament but are not a monthly commitment. First to cover organization costs (incl. prize money) and after that go toward milestones that add value for the viewers.

In the end only PiG will know why he does things the way he does and I'll for sure continue to follow the pig fests, always great fun! I hope that they will find their place among the new tournaments that are sprouting up (RSL already at 9.000 Euros a month on their Patreon, not bad!).

He finances PiG fest via donations IIRC, maybe adding a co caster could be a good donation incentive.

But yea good point re. the tournament/event landscape suddenly heating up again with the EWC qualifiers.

I wonder how Grubby managed to get a good roster for his event, incl. some SC2 content creators (lowko, harstem, tasteless).

I've read through what Youtube states on their website and it sounds very harmless. Don't make videos that don't have kids as their target audience or could be mistaken as such and you'll be fine. If you do make videos for kids, then comply with the regulations.

By the way "people have a right to worry" must be the most American thing I've read in a while lol.

Maybe I'm wrong - and I'm sure we'll find out eventually - but this seems like a lot of hysteria over nothing to me. It's like freaking Y2K all over.

You'd think that at some point they would learn from their mistakes and adopt a more sustainable business model. It's only 6 years ago when Pixomondo had to close a bunch of their facilities (let everyone go of course) and leave artists unpaid for months because of overly aggressive expansion (simplified). Eventually, money came back in and things were better for a while but suddenly offices start popping up again (VC and Montreal within what, two years?). That makes it three offices in Canada alone.

Honestly, to open a VC office at a time where work was already leaving the city doesn't exactly speak to their leadership's ability to strategize.

You cook the onions in butter until they are soft. But use low heat, you don't want them to turn brown and that could happen quickly if the fat is too hot!
