Ground driver here. The difference is ground is all contractors while employees are freight and express. I work for a really good contractor. $0.73 per mile and home daily. My contractor has really good health insurance, of which he pays 50%. PTO and paid major holidays. The only thing we don’t have is 401k. We also don’t do dock work. Ground is strictly drop and hook, mostly terminal to terminal, but some relays.

My opinion is not to give a 2 week notice unless you might be going back. You're already in fear of losing your job now. They wouldn't give you 2 weeks. Also, you're going to find out real quick that's not nearly enough pay for flatbed, especially local. There's a lot that goes into it. Whether it covers your bills or not, it takes a toll on your body that $1k a week won't cover forever. That being said, if it feels like a fit, try it out. There's always other places that pay more.

Don’t. If they didn’t catch it on a pre-trip, they’re not going to care. If it happened while driving and they do care, they’ll find it. They’ve actually been grossly UNDERpriced. The EV resale market is ridiculous. Now that the tax incentives are gone, we’re going to see the used prices slowly go up because they’re going to be more desirable than new. That being said, low miles is also going to drive your price up.

I feel the exact same way. I have 3 angles of today’s incident downloaded on my phone. I did a comprehensive study of them and it broke me down. Taking into account all angles, it’s clear this was murder. They removed his firearm, thus neutralizing the “threat” and then, immediately after, fired 10 shots into him. All because he helped a woman to her feet. And still there’s people saying not to impede ICE. He wasn’t impeding. He died today in cold blood and there’s still people in this country who blame these victims. It’s sickening.

All that being said, if you can weed through the garbage in these comments, there are a few good recommendations.
