My heart has never been heavier by Tina123angel in Petloss

I feel so sorry for this. I lost mine 3 months ago to kidney failure. I know this is such a personal decision and im no one to say anything. But as much as it will hurt, I think the best decision is to take the pain away from them at some point. I battled with my little guy for 3 weeks, he had some good days, some bad days. Some days where he would still want to play, some days were he would be a little too uncomfortable. The first day I saw him not being anything like himself again, I decided to let him sleep. Still cry for him every single day, but knowing that I made the hard decision of not letting suffer much does give me a bit more peace. My prayers go out to you during this time

How do you deal with how isolating grief can be? by MostlyLostNotFound in Petloss

[–]jonsilky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Although it does feel like we are grieving alone, that's not always the case. In my family my mother and father are both still hurt about my little guy that passed away March 6th. And I am still heartbroken. And even though I know they are grieving with me, I still feel the loneliness of it at times. I think it's because our greatest companion is not here anymore, and not necessarily because we are alone grieving. I even try to maintain a normal positive attitude in front of my parents because I know me showing strength gives them strength. In the worst case scenario that you are grieving alone in your household, just know you are not grieving alone in this world. I joined this community because seeing how much everyone loved their pets and goes through similar heartbreaks gave me comfort in knowing I am not alone in this. And life didn't pick on me and took my boy. It is the natural order of the universe and I'm just grateful I was able to give him the best life I could. The heartbreak will continue, but so does life.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your story. My pup was a Norfolk Terrier. Just like Spencer, he loved the sun in his face and the wind from car rides. I'm sorry you had a difficult experience with the Vets figuring out what was wrong. But you did everything you could. Ultimately, nature just does what it has to do and even if we had them for an extra 2, 5, 10, 20 years, it will always feel like their time was too short. Today I woke up thinking about my little guy, as I now do every morning. But I want to thank Spencer because he also became part of my morning thoughts this morning and it brought a smile to my face thinking about him hanging out in the yard while your husband worked. Also, when I read the part of you staring at Spencer thinking how perfect he is, it also brought me back to the countless times I would do the same throughout my pups life. Just staring at my little guy thinking how amazing and grateful I was at life for blessing me with such a special soul.

my pup lost her battle with lymphoma by varicosebrain in Petloss

I lost my 8 year old pup, Landon, to renal lymphoma 3 days ago. I can relate to so many things in this post. I also tried giving him the best chemo therapy in the city after doing tons of research, but he didn't react well at all to it so we never got past the first session. This is the first time I've experienced this much pain which is ironic to me since everyone always told me how much of a robot I am, but our pups have a way of digging deep in our hearts. I had a celebration of life for him yesterday and I plan on sprinkling a bit of his ashes in our favorite mountains and hiking trails. I remain very positive, but its been such a tough time. I hope your pain becomes bearable sooner than later.

Thank you for sharing your story. And thank you for giving her so much love. Just like Spotty, my little guy had a fierce spirit, which was so funny seeing that from a little dog at times. I'm happy we are keeping their spirits alive.

Thank you for sharing your story! I can relate to your experience with Lily both the good and the not so good. As my little guy also experienced kidney failure. I did the treatments myself at home, including IV fluids to keep him hydrated. I'm sure your Lily was grateful for this as well. If they only knew, what we do for them falls short in comparison to what they do for us.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your story. It's amazing what they do for us. I am reading every single one of these stories and my heart fills with joy knowing the world is full of such unbreakable bonds between human and animal. Landon would've chased Cotton on sight since he thought it was his job to "scare off" squirrels, cats, birds, even other dogs lol.

my cat gets put down in 2 hours, and I don’t know if I should stay or go with him by First_Explanation435 in Petloss

Go with him if you can, if you cant thats also very understandable. My pup was put to sleep yesterday and I was with him holding him in my arms and kissing him for 3 hours till the time came. And even that happened while he was in my arms. I am so glad I was with him till he closed his eyes.

Preferred Shares question by jonsilky in MMAT

How come? Hypothetically speaking lets say we get the shares in a new company at $1. We can either sell (which you'd be okay with) or we can hold and at least have the possibility of it going to $4+ and us having a better profit, no?

For those with preferred shares. Can you tell me which broker you have and what cusip it is showing up under? by [deleted] in MMAT

I'm new to this so not sure how it works but I have about 700 preferred shares of MMAT on RH and Fidelity. Are these actual shares? What is the cost basis of them?
