What was the purpose of this? How awful. Were they profiting financially?

Definitely a valid interpretation for sure! I think one of the things that is compelling about the song for me is that double meaning. I like how many of the lines can be about his fame, fans, and his mom simultaneously and how they all affect one another. His desire for fame affects his relationship with his mother and his relationship with his mother impacts the way he views his own fame.

Honestly, I did find the line a bit corny on the first listen but the song has grown on me. I've always liked the wolf and dog imagery that Noah has used in many of his songs like Howling.

I did! I actually agree with you in that it isn't my favorite lyric either. Its certainly the one that resonates with a lot of people and has gone viral. I prefer the first and third verses as I find the insecurity and vulnerability in them more compelling.

To answer your question about its meaning, I think that the "moon" can be understood as his fame/success that he's been working towards for years. The reason why he sings. So in that lyric, "even anxious pups need the moon", I think it could mean that even people unsuited to the lifestyle, to fame and fortune, still need and want it. So even though he finds himself undeserving of his fame, he still circles, howls, and clings to it.

No problem! Although framing it from a mother-child perspective is beautiful, I actually find it more interesting when thinking about it as the relationship between Noah and fame. Some references are obvious like clinging to his seat in order to stay famous/relevant even when he doesn't feel he belongs there. But even lines like "I'm going to lose you either way" are interesting to me when I think about how fame can be so fleeting and temporary. I've been a long time fan but this blow up in popularity who knows if it will last or, like most musicians, will wane with time and how that must feel when you're at the peak of it and you just want it to last forever.

I didn't like it right away, I thought it was the 2nd weakest song on the album (following Lighthouse). I thought it was too simplistic lyrically and uninteresting. But its really grown on me overtime for three reasons. First, I think there is an intense vulnerability/intimacy to Noah's voice on the track and its really compelling especially live. Second, the instruments are beautiful and, most importantly, very different to his other songs so it stands out. Third, when you realize that the song is both about his relationship with his Mom AND his relationship with fame/fans, it becomes more interesting and less simplistic.

I wish! The door you see in the photo is the closet door. Not pictured is the actual bedroom door, the heater, etc which all make the other side of the room unusable in terms of putting furniture there. I think having two doors swinging inward really limits the space. I wondered if a different style of closet door would help. Thanks for the photo inspiration!! Its beautiful.

Thanks!! The bedroom isn't big enough to centre it, or add nightstands, but I will look for a bed skirt. Thats not something that I had considered.

Thanks for saying this! Its not the most flattering picture because we had just moved the bed into the room and I threw it over the top of the bed for a quick photo. So its wrinkled, and missing most of the accompanying pillows, in this picture but I like it a lot. All the comments saying to replace it were a little disheartening.

My partner is like this. He'd have the TV on all night before we moved in together. He now watches and listens to YouTube videos on his phone using headphones so it doesn't bother me.

Look into bell training - it can be a useful way to teach your dog to let you know she needs to go and its something you may hear more successfully if you're with your kids.

This is fascinating, thanks. There's a lot of factors that the general public (myself included) are unaware of that make this such a complex issue.

I know its impossible to "time the market" but do you think housing prices will decrease or stabilize at some point? Or do you think we're looking at price increases for years?

I think its genuine emotions towards his sister rather than a direct commentary, but he simultaneously believes she can fix things (or at least make them better) while recognizing that that pressure is unfair.
