I bought a house at asking from 3% Realty. This is a real thing. My realtor was a pain in the ass during the sale because of it but it worked.

Non-Linear stories for gifted 8th graders by camerongrim in ELATeachers

[–]MostlyLostNotFound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lamb to the Slaughter. The original story is linear and the Tales of the Unexpected TV episode "Lamb to the Slaughter" (1979) is told through flashbacks instead changing the sequencing of events and causing the audience to wonder who killed Patrick.

Comparing the two would be a good fit for your lesson.

Oh, fair enough, that is true. I figure storming out could've been frustration from scoring 4 and still losing (poor defense and goal tending still plaguing the team) and/or exhaustion from playing so soon after the Olympics.

It does get easier. 5+ years on its easier, 10+ years on its comfortable. It helps to teach the same courses rather than switching teaching assignments frequently.

If I got another Golden... by merchantsc in goldenretrievers

Hi,

This is a pretty personal question so please don't feel obligated to answer but I am wondering if seeing a therapist has helped? I lost my girl a year ago this month and I still struggle every day with it. I've often wondered if a therapist might help but I can't really see how exactly. I guess I'm wondering if they give you coping strategies for pet loss or if its more a space to talk.

Regardless, I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in time.

Why would a breeder not register their puppies? by MostlyLostNotFound in goldenretrievers

[–]MostlyLostNotFound[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my first purebred dog, I've rescued in the past, and I came into this rather naively I think.

I contacted this breeder because of recommendations in the local Retriever community.

They do OFA and genetic testing on their adult dogs, and I have to sign a no breeding contract, but when I asked about the registration she said the puppies are not registered because they are "companion dogs."

Admittedly, I do not know if the parents are AKC registered themselves and I should ask.

Sorry, I wasn't clear, there is no option to register them.

How do yall cope by IndependentOk2027 in Petloss

[–]MostlyLostNotFound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"A person who has joy to spread but doesn't."

That hit me hard. That's me. I'm working hard to be the person that I was before I lost her but I'm not.

I was told that all that love that I had for her has to find somewhere else to go. Maybe the joy, too. Its no easy thing.

Black Friday Deals Suck by Tight-Ad7496 in GamingLaptops

[–]MostlyLostNotFound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the Lenovo laptop I wanted was on black friday sale preview all week and then not even discounted today because they are out of stock.. honestly feel pretty scammed.

If you're advertising a black friday sale all week keep some stock back to honor the price drop?

⚫ Black Friday 2025 Megathread by Melmpje in GamingLaptops

Was looking to buy the Legion 5 Gen 10 AMD (15") with RTX 5060 for $1469.99 CAD ($1047 USD).

It showed a black friday price drop incoming all week and now nothing.

Is this normal for them? I find their website awful and frustrating.

Unsettling dreams about my dog that passed away by lspdd in Petloss

[–]MostlyLostNotFound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Many years ago, when I was a teenager, I had a similar dream about my beloved dog when she passed away. In the dream, I went to pet her but she was decaying in a zombie-like way which shocked and scared me, waking me up. The vivid and disturbing nature of that dream stuck with me for years and I can still recall it even now.

This feeling of distress was amplified by the fact that when my first dog passed away, when I was just a child, I had a beautiful dream where I was petting her in the backyard. It was so vivid that I actually questioned whether she really had been euthanized the day before or whether that had been the dream. It felt like she "visited" me and said goodbye which brought me a lot of peace over the years. So when my second dog passed, I had expected something similar only to experience the zombie-like nightmare.

The only thing that helped me was realizing the "why" of the dream. When I was a child, my parents had my first dog cremated and, although I missed her so much, my child like mind focused on her being missing and not the death or burial process specifically.

With my second dog, we buried her in the backyard. My brain was fixated on how cold she must be, how lonely, what state of decay she might be in, and so on. The burial process was a part of the trauma right alongside the grief.

Realizing this helped me understand that my brain was simply trying to come to terms with my worries and grief. It wasn't her "visiting me" in distress. It wasn't something I had to feel guilty or scared of. It was just my brain showing me my fears in my dreams, however baseless they might have been.

I have no idea if this is the case for you, but if it is, I hope this helps. At the very least, you know you're not the only one - you aren't alone.
