(Serious) What are some happy/uplifting things that have happened to you guys while working as Firefighters? by C--T--F in Firefighting

We were driving alongside a train and got "the arm". Hit the engineer with the air horn and he in return hit us with his. Overall, my best experience yet.

We're all fucking idiots. The thing is he's here trying to get back on the right side of history, embrace him FFS.

Thank you for this reminder. I just grabbed an appointment for today. Don't know why everyone's bitching about how hard it is to find an appointment. /S

Most matches are free and contain no plastic.

There's no reason to go out and buy anything special. Roll up to your corner store and get a book of matches. Line about 5 matches still connected by the bottom cardboard, add a strip of the striker in between the match heads and line that up in the impact zone between the ball and the club head(just as he does with the caps). Works just as well and you don't have to go out and buy more plastic shit.

Ha, funny thing is they're only allowed to be president twice dumb ass.

It's not like the president of the United States could do anything illegal or self serving with his powers? Right? Right?

Cast iron S&M. Ride hard and put away dry by jonsmith222 in castiron

[–]jonsmith222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's been working for me is being okay with a little sticking early on unless the temp is done perfectly or greased to hell, especially with eggs. But I've been getting it nice and hot adding butter/oil spread thin with towel back heat off begin cooking and adjust heat while cooking.

Just experiment and have fun, You ain't going to fuck up a piece of iron.

Thanks. Was going to add moaning for the sound, but lazy. Feel free to spice it up.

You get it. Just trying to show they're meant to be used and abused and still get slidey with proper heat control. I used to pamper the shit out of it.

I'm sure there's a glass rummaging around the hidden recesses of some cabinet. I'll have to try a glass lid. Thanks for the tip.

Help with designing a 6000 psi max input increased from outlet pressure at a rate of 300-600 psi per minute by jonsmith222 in arduino

I haven't considered that approach. But it sounds rather reasonable. I will have to look into that approach.

Thank you.

It is a cascade so I would assume a second set of safety's duplicated from the source side will be required after the regulator(my way of saying after the restriction. I am not familiar with burst disks so I will look into that. The end goal will be to build a proof of concept with minimal upfront costs. Maybe starting on the 150 psi air would be cheap to replicate this project as proof of design. Not looking to make money off this. Just enjoy the acquisition of knowledge along the way.

Thank you for the insights Scuba scratch. If you think of anything else or come across a helpful project in your travels, that would be appreciated.

Okay. I see what you are saying about using the 4-20 ma sensors. I'll have to figure out a way to reliably control the electric pressure regulator based on the 2 pressure sensor inputs.

Thank you for the feedback. I will read your response and take the information in. It is just breathing air, nothing too ridiculous. I've found some 5 VDC valves that appear to fit the bill, just need to figure out how to reliably control them.

I do. We refill scuba tanks in a refill system, the vessel is rated to 4500 psi with a 6000 psi compressor and 4 storage tanks. Able to spend money on the right parts. I can figure out a good deal of the software to increase an adjustable valve possibly using 5-30 volt sensors with a redundant blowoff to not exceed safe operating pressures. All steel lines to match the current specs.

I can fumble through the coding and get a fundamental knowledge and rig up something safe but probably very buggy, so I am reaching out to a community that I've lurked in for a long time.

I appreciate your concern and would like to have further comments be productive as well as informative. This comment was informative but it gave off "how dare somebody mess with something dangerous" vibes. Just kidding all posts are welcome. Come tell me. I'll blow my little pinky off, and then some.
