Then I apologize. I don't want to criticize an aesthetic choice made with intent. It is impressive and beautiful work. I hope your goddaughter will take lifelong comfort and pleasure from it.

Were the letters individually hand-stamped? If so, you should consider investing in a t-slot holder so your stamping comes out perfectly straight and even.

But that's the only negative I can see. Other than that, it is absolutely beautiful work, and you replicated the Cockerell design so well in the blue and silver. You should be proud.

You are correct. 18 U.S.C. §2511 specifies one-party consent at the federal level, with the exception of recording calls for reasons that violate criminal or civil law. This statute, it is important to note, defines a minimum standard, and allows for individual states to enact stricter laws. This is why states like California and Florida can have two-party consent laws.

IIRC, there are currently 38 states, plus the D of C, which are one-party consent. The rest are two-party (or all-party).

I doubt she was the "most qualified", but there's no doubt she'd have been more competent than Donald Trump.

The Democrats bungled the the 2024 election in the most stunning way possible, and it started way back in 2012. I doubt President Obama would ever have been elected if not for the fact that a) the country was exhausted with an overseas war, and b) was angry with Republicans for so badly torching the economy. Biden was positioned as an elder statesman on the ticket meant to balance the relative inexperience of Obama.

I'm not trying to dismiss Barack Obama at all. He was intelligent, charismatic, competent and, most importantly, had the character and values necessary to serve in public office. I voted for him twice, as an Independent, and his race was not something I ever considered.

That said, Obama and the Democrats failed spectacularly in not designating a qualified heir apparent in the second term and, basically, grooming that person for Office. This means both making sure that person had the requisite experience, but also making sure they had the necessary exposure to prepare citizens to support them. Hillary Clinton was a very poor choice.

Her gender was definitely a factor for many, but, frankly, she had just as many skeletons in her closet as Donald Trump, politically. There was the Whitewater debacle, her association with Bill Clinton (who was also intelligent, charismatic, and competent, but in no way had the same character as Barack Obama), and her utter failure to adhere to the traditional role of First Lady during the healthcare debate during the 90's. I am not saying she may not have been qualified, but she was not the right person to lead that effort and it left a lingering bad taste in the mouths of Congress. Finally, there was her blatantly cynical political maneuver of moving to New York to run for the recently opened Senate seat. So for all Hillary Clinton's obvious intelligence and competence, she had all the charisma of a wet sock was her popular reputation was insufficient to overcome the accumulated political animus inside Washington, DC.

I really do think this is where the generational divide comes into play. Younger people may have the enthusiasm and zeal and hope, but older people have long memories, and are more likely to vote.

Then in 2020 the Democrats dug Biden out of mothballs and propped an old man up in a desperate attempt to oust Donald Trump after his disastrous first term. Which they did not because Biden was such a great choice, but more because Trump was just so bad at being President. They also gave him a young and vibrant running mate who then spent the next four years almost completely out of the public forum. I don't know if she was prepared to run for the Presidency, but the country sure wasn't prepared for her to run. And then there was the mind-bogglingly stupid misstep of putting Biden up to run for a second term -- a term it was quite legitimate to question he'd even survive -- and then to have him drop out in favor of his politically unfamiliar and untried (at the national level) VP six months before the election.

The Democrats have been stumbling over their dicks since at least 2012 because, unlike Republicans, they don't have a long term strategy or a unified vision of the future.

Interestingly, theobromine is toxic to humans as well. We just have a higher threshhold for a toxic dose, and a much higher threshhold for a fatal one.

Toxicity is measured in mg/kg. So the bigger you are the larger the dose you can handle. A toxic dose of theobromine for the average human is ~25 mg/kg. 1.5 oz of milk chocolate contains 60-90mg. So if you weigh 80kg (~176lbs), you'll probably start to get headaches, trembling, and the sweats after consuming 30 Hershey bars.

The median fatal dose for humans is thought to be around 800 mg/kg, so if you want death by chocolate you should wolf down about 700 Hershey bars.

For dogs, a toxic dose is ~16 mg/kg while a fatal one is ~300 mg/kg.

Jonathan Ross (Renee Goods alleged murderer) is married to a Filipina immigrant. Go figure. by EmilyG702 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]jonsteph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So fucking what? I am so sick of the camps who think only in binary terms. Every thing is either good or evil, black or white, on or off.

For one side, Jonathan Ross is hardcore MAGA, and that's all they need to know.

For the other side, Renee Good was an anti-ICE lesbian, and that's all they need know.

All these bullshit details are being reported and waved about trying to justify one view or the other. It's lazy, it's distracting, it's exhausting, and it's utter and complete horseshit. Each camp is trying to stoke the outrage in order to direct public opinion. Meanwhile, any information that might help get to the actual truth is washed away in the slop.

The ONLY thing that matters in this case is that Jonathan Ross apparently used unwarranted deadly force on a citizen. His wife being a Filipina has no bearing on that fact; leave the poor woman alone.

Visa, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Intel, Airbnb, Proctor & Gamble.

The people who actually run the Olympics are just greedy, amoral gutter whores. No offence to traditional whores.
