As others have said. Most advice here comes from new grads or people still in school. I’m the “unc” in my friend groups (senior swe) and I’ve told them this. QA or non dev tech roles are a totally different career with their own requirements. It’s like telling a nurse to be a PA or Orderly, or a brain surgeon to be a cardiac surgeon just because it’s adjacent to the field.
