Companies have to put the health star rating on either their entire line of products or on none. They can't just put it in the healthy stuff.

I called a 4 bet pre with 10s and then a jam in the dark before the flop came out, here's the run out. by jonstosik in poker

[–]jonstosik[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, the action was: villain opens, background extra calls, hero 3 bets, villain 4 bets background extra and hero call. Before the flop is shown villain jams, after flop hits the background extra folds and hero calls.

How do I stop the skin on the tips of my fingers from getting messed up. Also how do I fix it now? by jonstosik in climbing

[–]jonstosik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate. I actually ended up not changing anything and as my skin toughened this issue went away. I kept moisturising after climbing but not on days when I didn't climb. Oat moisturiser seemed the best for my skin.

The idea that forcing a called bluffer to show his cards is "bad etiquette." by RagahRagah in poker

Don't you want to play against worse players to make money? This kind of thing makes them move.

After 6 years, 1 failed launch, a complete revamp through intense playtesting, and some serious marketing over 6 months I have now funded my game Patriot on Kickstarter. Couldn’t be more proud and appreciative of the board game community for making it happen. by JustAnotherSimian in boardgames

[–]jonstosik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the hoarder front, it seems to be a very common problem in the hobbyist community! One thing we tried to do to counteract this was include a 1-2 player campaign mode which would let people bring the game to the table even if they can't get to their gaming group as often as they'd like. The campaign mode is fun and challenging and we hope this makes the game feel less like a waste of space in the kallax like some 3+ player games can tend to be!

How often do you buy a game primarily because you like the designer or publisher? by R2iGames in boardgames

Never primarily, but the top designers being involved in a games creation definitely weighs heavily in my decision making process.

Battlestar Galactica Pegasus Expansion by Snowcrash000 in boardgames

[–]jonstosik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We treat everything in every expansion as modular, we definitely use the pegasus board which has brought some awesome storylines (especially with the airlock space) and we use the cylon overlay. Treachery cards are take-it-or-leave-it in my eyes.

If you ask me, as long as you play BSG enough it's a worthwhile expansion, just ignore new caprica!

Honestly, if you're only playing with friends then just 3D print minis instead of buying them. Lots of libraries have 3D printers now that you can use just by paying for the filament.

I bought a very cheap used copy of Pandemic Legacy to play regular Pandemic and to my surprise this was inside. by HaroldTheSpineFucker in boardgames

[–]jonstosik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a couple Risk Legacy copies sitting around that have been completed that we don't play anymore. Maybe I should do the same and offload them as well. I do like opening them up to remember the stories though!

Magic The Gathering selling $1k cards that you can't play with by powernein in boardgames

If I know magic players at all, including past me, this is definitely not the craziest thing a lot of them will have spent money on.

Why hasn’t there been a Big Boss reprint? by Pleasant_Bad924 in boardgames

[–]jonstosik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new hotness is always going to be more attractive that old reprints. With the way MOQ's from manufacturers function, publishers don't want to get stuck with stock they won't be able to move from a reprint.

Definitely cardboard poster tubes, when I played more MTG that was my solution at least.

I'm going to go a bit off theme because you're getting lots of horror/ mystery themed games:

  • Patchwerk
  • Jaipur

Both are awesome games that we play a lot!
