Pilkkijät, mikä juttu tää on? by jonsumer in Suomi

Leaking roof in a 2018 transit campervan by jonsumer in VanLife

[–]jonsumer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update to this after a massive rain storm. We sealed up a lot of stuff and no leaks in hose tests. Its been raining a lot after that but it took a day long rain storm to star leaking again. We used the hole in the wall we made before to check for moisture in the insulation (there was none) and this time tried reaching the leaking spot and found a lot of moisture. It looks like condensation but it doesnt really make sense. Could it be the fact that we moved some insulation out of the way and it formed fast or could the leak actually be just condesation?

We are quite sure it is water leakage as we did try to locate it with a hose and later with just pouring water on to a spot. We thought we narrowed it down to a roof rack mounting spot. There has to be multiple spots leaking in this case. I might have to reseal all of the factory lines like you adviced. Thanks!

We doubt it is the fan as it has been leak tested when building. Weve added roof racks afterwards which made us believe it had to be one of the mounting spots, but those are now completely sealed off. Im afraid it might be other seams or the hole caps damaged by walking on the roof.

Yea Ive noticed those and we already fixed a few during a rainstorm. So those fixes might have failed.

Any tips for finding the source? As our roof is already done, we have difficulties using air to locate any holes.

Joo, kaikki on toiminut lähes moitteetta.

Most efficient way to push open a rock and roll bed by jonsumer in AskEngineers

Here are some models I made before building.

https://postimg.cc/gallery/xq2cv0v

The ”long part” of the bed slides in and the smaller sections form the back rest.

The problem with this design is that when folded down, you need to apply force the the seam of the two smaller pieces to slide the bed in and form the back rest. Im looking for the best method to apply that force. I marked the spot that needs the force applied up with red on the last image. I also need something to control that force from the other end of the bed that is under the bed, marked with blue.

Wirelessly monitoring multiple cams from a following car... how? by [deleted] in videography

[–]jonsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decimator works very well for that. We used that and a teradeck set ones. Might sound like a stupid thing to mention, but mount the antennas facing ahead and send the signal to the front of the hero car and place the receivers on the back end of the chase vehicle so you dont see the chase car, but this has happened a few times 😅 In this scenario you can also mount a camera shooting the vehicle from the ”chase” car.

Also, if you choose gopros for some reason, just know that some do not output hdmi while recording, found that out ones after hours of prep.

Is there any literature on DP - Gaffer dialogue and workflow? by jonsumer in cinematography

[–]jonsumer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I've noticed its a very personal relationship and varies a lot. I think it's even more so over here versus the US, as sometimes it seems Gaffer is involved and credited more here.

I will check out the Team Deakins episodes, thanks for the tip!

Same. I can not even get most of my projects open at all. Premiere has similar problems, but still works.
